Hi Albert,
Your project is nearly done but I am waiting for parts. The strobes and navs should be here tomorrow. The props electrical stuff is only going to be here in 2 weeks or so. (Out of my control) I just got a mail from the States.

I mostly keep these build logs for the benefit of other builders to see what to do but I will try and see if I have useful pics for you to see. We still need to finalize the striping colours as well.
The panel is in The wiring is nearly done. We still need to order the transponder. The rand dollar is better now so it might be a good time to do that now. Maybe best you order direct from Sandia and send it to us. The holes are cut and the wiring is in. Will finish off as soon as we get the lights. I was hoping to start up this week but the delays in supplies is holding us back.

Sorry KFA,

I only Posted to Pages where Quicksilver was mentioned. I suppose I had to somehow "link" it to the post mentioned, but I'm a bit new to the site and did not know how.

Just trying to spread the word that Quicksilver is back in SA.

Again, Sorry.

Thanks Albert. We will start her up in the next couple of days. I was waiting for a water temp probe on the engine and a regulator. Auto pilot is testing Ok and all the rest works. Now we are awaiting the paperwork. I am still looking for a reasonably priced Transponder.
Later

Stefan,
I've send you an email regarding this transponder.I want to go for the Sandia STX 165 but I read somewhere they reckon Mode C transponders will not be used for a long time then they will go for Mode S same as Europe.

I want to buy a transponder but I do not want to waste my money.

Anyone who can advise?

The hole that is in the panel is a 2 1/4 inch. So you will have to go for a round face transponder. Mode c or S, that is your decision. Get the better one then you do not have to upgrade later. They will not become cheaper.
