Hi,
almost time to fly. PFA has been issued and insurance arranged. Just a question for the people familiar with insurance, how does it work with proving flights? Seems like the insurance companies wants additional insurance if it is proving flights...
Any thoughts?

I am not sure. I had to specifically add the test pilot as a named pilot, but aside from that the insurer (DJA) had no issues - although they did say my hull rates would come down with a few hours on the clock.

I have spoken to DJA. They said that the aircraft is covered for "normal" operation, but that proving flights needed additional cover... According to the terms it says that the pilot must be specified, but that any additional pilots that are not specified can be included, given that it is a type rated flying instructor.
I then don't understand that extra cover is needed for proving flights and for the test pilot (who is also a type rated flying instructor)...

This is what my policy says:
"Private, Business and Pleasure
Conversion to type and Advanced instruction of J Schoeman.Extended to include 25-40 hours Proving flights (2-3 hours by C
Manser)."
Perhaps chat to Corne directly - she is busy doing my paperwork at the moment, so she knows all about Ravens and proving flights:
