Hi Gents
I have fitted a window frame to my door frame and now scratching my head on how to cover up the outer tube frame the door to the base of the butt rib.
Could anyone enlighten me with a couple of pictures???
I would really appreciate it... Or email

Re: Building the Safari in Maputo
Look at the pics. We use a poly urethane sealer / adhesive to stick the panels on. Sikkaflex or Dinitrol) You can buy these products from panel beater shops or automotive paint suppliers. Sand and clean the frames and the glass panels off with acetone or Sikkaflex cleaner. If you have a "loose" flap-up window, just make the edges wider. And we use a few 2.3 countersink rivits just to hold things in place untill the glue has set. You are building fast. In a Hurry? Just make sure you do not screw up. The AP is not going to dismantle the whole dang thang to check you up. DO THINGS properly! ......please!

Re: Building the Safari in Maputo
Thanks!
Trust, making SURE of things before just rushing in. Stephan will be doing the wings, engine and electronic installation.
Anyway, my door is abit different to yours, as I said I have a window frame installed on in the door frame. Now if I fit the window that it stops just under the but rib, the door or window frame will not open. So ideally it needs to be riveted to just over the widow frame, leaving me with a nice big gap between the tubes of the door frame an the base of the but rib.
I already know I'm gonna have to re-do the other door...

Best just to leave it. I will make a plan. You need vents in any case for the hell hole you will be flying in and out of.......

Re: Building the Safari in Maputo
Work done so far.
Engine fitted, rdac, AHRS, oil tank, regulator and some fuel lines fitted. Wings done, will start covering on Monday. Panel is cut, painted and instruments that I had is fitted. Currently about 60% done with the panel wiring.
Waiting for the spinner before we can do further work on the firewall side.
