Well done guys.
Is a formal flight testing procedure required?

I must still find this out for sure from Raasa. As far as I've been informed by the AP at the airfield, no, it is not a requirement for the ATF, however because the aircraft was involved in an accident, DBP will need to be signed off by two independant AP's. IE two inspections. I dont think it's a requirement because there are so few rated test pilots around? I think there are only around 5 in the whole country? I stand to be corrected though.bobthebuilder wrote:Well done guys.

Craig Couzens from Solowings has allready test flown the wing down in Pinetown and the repairs were noted in detail in the logbook. We will have to wait for Hans to get back from the coast before we can assemble and fit the new wing.Probably only late next week. Then we will be ready for the "paperwork stage".

Shhhhh!.....Dont tell anyone.....
Our wing has arrived!
Now where the hell is Uncle Hans???
Typical....always on holiday picking up his new Savannah!

Great work Solo Wings (Micro Crafts Africa)- Craig, Alan, Stef and of course Hans. Craig apparently makes the wing (cutting & stitching) and then of course does the test flying.
Bundy, now that you have your aerie back, are you going to join us for the Klipriver Fly-In on the 14th July 2012??..see flying events. I flew in last year and it was awsome. There is also a fly-In to Kroon on the 30th June, but I will be in Kruger...school holidays you know!

Will maar see Paul....I'd love to but to be honest I will prob not make it even if the plane is ready. I plan to spend my first 5 hours or so just getting used to everything again, and will spend most of that in the circuit.
That, and the fact that I'm seriously "platsak".
Right now I need Hans to complete the plane when he get's back (attach the wing etc etc next weekend) He has forbidden anyone else to do it which I can understand.
Tommorrow I'm installing our new Air Magic System
Then it's two rounds of AP inspections....
Then a CAA inspection....
Then I can give in our documentation to the CAA inspector....
Then we can get our ATF issued....
...and hopefully by that time I will still remember how to fly
...forgive my lack of enthusiasm...but I HATE PAPERWORK!

Cool Alan. I fully understand.
There are still many fly-in's....when you are ready. I remeber missing the big Swartkops fly-in a couple of years ago. 60 something Trikes flew in and a lot from Springs, where I was based at the time. I was so disapointed but there is always next time.
She is most definitly going to be very different to what you were used to. A new wing flies differently, for sure!!
Cheers.

Nice seeing you at ML Paul
Well we got the new Airmagic system in and working, mounted the pylon fairing and connected the temporary aerial which Tailspin kindly lent us till we can get the Vee Rabbit sorted.
Christal Clear comms! Whoo hoo ....for the first time in 66 hrs of flying
Now all that remains is to fit the new prop and the wing when Hans gets back next week.

Thanks BC, we've had some custom stickers made as well, they will hopefully be done by next weekend.BeanCounter wrote:Great paint job Bundy! I know you had to go a couple of rounds to get it right, but damn that looks nice!!
The spats, shock covers and front wheel mud guard were factory sprayed by Solowings. The only bits we had done were the Pylon Fairing and the banana pod.
Did you eventually buy the cobra you were interested in? How far's the training boet?

I bought that Cobra and it's also getting a new wing at the moment, Jenya says another 4 weeks. The training is going annoyingly slow. I've had bad luck with weather over the last couple of lessons, Bapsfontein sure can get foggy at 06:00 am , apparently more so on the mornings I'm bookedBundy wrote: Did you eventually buy the cobra you were interested in? I have another 7 hours to go, so with a bit of luck I hope to have pilot & plane legal by early August.

Hi Allan
Your trike looks great.
Do you think the owner of the prop, which on your trike at the moment, will be willing to sell it? I am looking for one, they work well on 503's
