I had to laugh when i saw the second last Photo. They (whoever they are) say that only mechanics and prostetutes lie on their backs and work.

Nice work you are doing there. Well i'm also a qualified motor mack, petrol and diesel. I left that trade a while back but it's great to know that guys like us can look after our own aircraft. I've got a Carl Babst Raven that's waiting to be built but I need to finish off my hangar build first. Enjoy the build further and keep the photos coming. It's inspiration to us who still need to start.

I thougth it best I should update my build page as a person here in zim following my build asked what has happened all gone very quite.
The short version of the long story is I have had to move house 3 times in the last 4 months. Just settling down and unpacking and hopefully no more moving house and the build should resume by the end of May.
Wings and rear fuselage sections are stranded at the previous location but a club member has kindly offer a closed in rear body truck to help move these sections.
I will update once the unpacking, settling in and setting up the build workshop area is completed.
for now

A big hello to the guys following my build and pushing me to update my build blog and apologes for not keeping the posts current. So here a quite a few pics of the build.
I have been a little slow as I am doing my PPL at Executive Air based at Charles Prince, Zimbabwe for those who dont know where CP is located, at the same time. This morning at Exec flight school was a big morning for me as I went solo this morning.
Right back to the important topic, the build.

Thanks Goose, its starting to look like a plane now thank goodness after all this time making parts and assembling. Next is to weld the 4 fuel tanks fit them into the wings and cloase up the wings.
Sadly I scribble my current microlight the other day, engine failure, but fortunetly all my PPL engine failure/forced landings were very fresh from the week before.
Got it onto the ground sort of after clipping a tree on approach to open space.Let me tell you guys when that Prop is not turning glide distance and sink rate accelarate away from you double quick.

Work has started again on the build now that I have a little bit more time to spend on building.Just completed the upgrade 4 position flap control.Took a bit extra time to make as no drawings available so worked from a photograph of this upgrade.

Hi Goose, following the Zenith video of this upgrade the total flaps is still 15deg but now have the option of 5 and 10 deg.
With the original flap control it was 0 or 15 deg only.
I know the savanah goes into higher flap deg numbers but I have stuck to info that was given in the video promotion of this mod.
To buy the mod is expensive $355.00
Having plenty materials left over this mod cost me not more than $20 and a few hours sceeming how to make it.
Just as further update I had make up 4 ali tanks and sent them to be welded by a certified welder who condemd the tanks as material to thin plus when I rolled the bead on the edge of the tanks I developed hair line cracks in it was the right call.
Just make up 4 new tanks and they being welded today.
Then I can close up the wings and start mounting wings to fuselage which will be a huge milestone for the build.

Short update on the build. The 4 fuel tanks have now been welded and pressure testing commenced. Sorted out a few tiny leaks so hoping final pressure testing finds all welds sealed.
So the plan to start fitting tanks in the wings is now on hold sadly.
I have been run over by an uber taxi here in the UK resulting in a broken leg - femur.taxi was revesing down a one way street and just drove over me!!!
Out of hospital after a lucky simple repair job, inserted a rod and screws and no plaster cast so hoping to get back to some form on normal soon.
Am grounded for 4 weeks in the UK before I can attemp to fly home.
Chat soon
