Hi All,
Just a quick update as to the progress. My boet and I did the rudder workshop at Bundu this weekend. Rudder will be complete by the weekend. I have set up a workshop in "my side" of the garage and will add some pictures as the build progresses. This is huge fun!

Good morning fellow builders.
When I took over this project from Conrad I allready knew I would not have the time to build it. From what Conrad had done, I basically only constructed the Vertical Stabilizer and the Co-pilot wing which was a primed and rivited skeleton, so most of the work was done! Eish... more than a year! However, it is and remains quite an enjoyable experience.
BUT, I also need this project completed by the time I finish my PPL, so I eventually convinced Philip Cronje from Bundu to complete the build for me and hopefully we will have this one flying by end of September. Progressing very well, and as I write this the front and back fuse should be finally assembled. I will take some pictures today and add them next week. We ordered the engine last week... dam the exchange rate I think we will have it here by end of August.
Here are some pictures from July... Philip needs a new camera!

Went to Bundu on Friday, but no visual progress! Philip is at Oshkosh and only back on the 10th so am not expecting much... I did excercise 14 (solo) on Saterday on the Sling at Aviators so this bird needs to get finished now!

My engine is the UL Power 350 i.
Here is some of the features:
ULPower Aero Engines developed this engine specifically for use in light aircraft (fixed wing & rotorcraft). It is built to the highest standards with a fully electronic ignition and multipoint fuel injection (FADEC) systemas standard.
The design of this engine was based around critical issues such as reliability, light weight, excellent performance, a direct propeller drive and modern, proven technology.
· Modern Technology 4 stroke, air cooled, 4 cylinder opposed engine
· Dual (redundant) electronic spark ignition (variable timing) – double wasted spark system
· Multipoint common rail electronic fuel injection with automatic altitude and temperature compensation
· Electronic RPM limiter
· Direct propeller drive
· Wet sump forced lubrication with integrated pressure regulator
· 5 bearing crankshaft with thrust ball bearing ( 6 bearings on 4 cylinder egines)
· Ram air cooled cylinders and cylinder heads
· High fuel efficiency
· No carburettor icing problems
· Excellent power to weight ratio
· Electric fuel pump and pressure regulator to eliminate vapour lock and facilitate starting even under adverse conditions. Fuel return system required.
Engines out of the crates include all the following:
· Basic UL350i engine (including: starter motor, 30 amp alternator, standard air and oil filter, standard prop flange with drive lugs ø14, flexible oil pressure sender line)

· Breather with Oil/Air separator (including: temperature resistant hoses and banjo connections)
· Standard Stainless Steel Exhaust System (including: gaskets, springs, screws and washers)

· Rectifier/regulator and connectors
· Aluminium Ram Air Boxes
· 24 months Standard Limited Engine Warranty
· Engines have ports for both ECU sensors and additional ports for instrument senders, eg, oil P, Manifold P, Oil Temp, fuel pressure.
