Boet am I understanding correctly that you want to put the yaris in your explorer?

Have you decided against using the BMW you got from oupa - or are you only planning to use your explorer as a testbench for the Yaris development as well? (i.e. get the Explorer flying with the BM motor and then use it for the Yaris development?)

Halo,Boet!

I was a Toyota dealer for 22 years. Therefore know the product. Very little to compare for price and reliability. My move to the Yaris engine developement, is largely a lack-of-mulah driven exercise. If I do not get satisfaction out of the 3 cyl Yaris engine, I will just look for the new generation 4 cylinder 1300 Corolla engine that came on the market at the beginning of this year. I understand that this engine too is very lightweight, and it puts out just over 100hp for very little weight gain over the Yaris.I have NOTHING against the Rotax range of engines. They are VERY good engines, but I can simply no longer afford to buy them. The agents have always treated me well, and gave fast and friendly service.
I will use my Explorer as a test-bed for the new engines. If the engine can work on your Scout, I do not know. Buy one and try it. vhpy vhpy

ERCHARGERS

Dankie vir terugvoer Boet & voorspoed!!

Its wonderful that you guys are prepared to innovate and experiment. The fact that you and oupa are doeing it correctly, will give me confidence in your final product. Bottom line we (EAA inclinded persons) need something which is reliable and affordable

Also see this company

Small light weight and already optimised for the Yaris.

Price is ---- ja well no fine, you must decide if it is worth the extra expense.

Anyway an alternative to choose from.

Hi Boet
Have a look at the Toyota Vitz (Yaris)

It is the 3rd item down just under the Nissan R35 GTR 4-Charger

Also look here

Been notified today, via-via, from one of our car-racing fundis, that just getting rid if the catalytical converter, and improving the breathing of the engine, already adds another +- 15hp. Ok. so now we have 68hp + 15hp= 83hp. Scratch turbo. This is far more than enough. OK, so next thing, we are going to be scratching around the computor controll unit...... faster"chip". Comments, anyone???? I just love the way this plan is coming together!!   WE ARE GETTING THERE!! (^^) (^^) (^^)
