Stephan, the last thing I will do is to buy a pre-owned  Toyota engine sight-unseen. Tx for the info anyway, but I have found a GOOD one already. Low smilage, and VERY clean. Looks like a brand new one! vhpy

Boet, Do you intend to retain the engine ECU and VVTi system? Or would you rather go with something like Eboxi with fixed timing? I see the engine has a roller Chain to drive the Cams - Nice for reliability! puff

Going for the E-Boxi, and about none of the original "sender units". The VVT is controlled via oil pressure. vhpy

Hi Boet, there is a place on kempston road in PE called JAP engines and gear boxes, I think it's an Ibayhi company, not sure. They had a 1.5l yaris engine with -20000km for R14000 last week when I was there. I'm going again next week when rare woods gets my spruce in and will get the guys' number if you need.
PM me if so,

Wow! Where do you get these things at such low prices? Midnight Spares?

Is the VVT on this one driven entirely mechanically? No fancy electronics needed to keep you in the air?

Hi Boet, :)
Here is my 1NZ stripped for further Mods. At present 65kg, 86kg before. I intend building a branch and even possibly an inlet manifold as the factory fitted one is in the way of the belt drive. I'm considering the Dictator fuel management, but need an engine Dino location as close as possible to Pretoria. Until next time. :)

I can not find a 1NR FE engine. To try and fit an engine that does not completely fit the bill, defies the object. So I bought another 1KR 3-cyl Yaris engine. Back to the drawing board....... vhpy

Kerneels,

ek hoop jy terg net, want jy praat nou met 'n oom wat al lank in die land is met hierdie soort goed! Ek reken hy weet waarvan hy praat en sien uit na die vordering.
