Justin's Raven

Postby justin.schoeman » Tue Mar 31, 2009 10:42 am

That is Raven with an 'e', not Ravin with an 'i'.

I have bought a partially complete Carl Babst Raven, with HDS wings (short, tapered wings). My aim is to build it up as light as possible, and to fair everything as well as possible. Hoping (yeah, I know it is not very likely) to cruise at 130mph IAS on the AeroVee engine (direct drive). If I can't get that, I will invest a bit more and fit a redrive, and VP prop.

Yeah, I know myself. If it takes more than a few months to complete, I never will finish it  . So cheat, and buy it just about done.

Still quite a bit of work to do, but nothing extreme.

Sorry - can't put a face to the name... I will have to fly in to Tedderfield when I am done, and see if I remember the face!

At the moment it is stashed in the basement parking at work. I am in the process of buying a house, and will move it there when I can. Until then, I am working on the interior, and trimmings, and will start with surface prep for painting.
