Will take some pictures over the weekend but she is basically together. Tail and wings are on - engine is mounted. Next is some instruments and that gearbox. Sadly that is all on hold for about 3 months while I wait for ABSA(which I now call CRAPSA) to close my bond with them so I can move to a fnb one account. This will release some of the bucks I have planned for this project.

Have been useless at taking pics but it's also parked in between 5 other planes so not easy to get pics.
But so far. Airframe together - wings on - tail feathers all done. Engine on and complete except for wiring the mag switches and charging electrics, fitting a gearbox and prop and doing the radiator brackets.
Avionics and gearbox still missing. Have a prop on loan to test. So now we wait. Last pictures I took was when I pulled it out to wash. Here goes.

Right due to a shortage of funds currently Plane has not progressed much but a major hurdle has been crossed. She in now not just a collection of pipes and a dream but is a registered aircraft with the CAA.

Registration is ZU-FEE.

Will now complete the rest of the paperwork with my AP and get closer to the point where we can get a proving ATF.
Money situation is almost resolved and the wait for that is about 3 weeks to go - ie 3 July.
Thanks to everybody that assisted me thus far - The owner of ZU-CIH has been in contact with me and thanks a lot for that - the owners manual has been a great help - I have personalised if for mine and will do the last changes once the flying commences.
He will never see it here(and I did thank him in person) but thanks a lot to Tom Peghiny of Flitestar sportplanes - they are the current holders of these aircraft's airworthiness standard and he assisted me HUGELY by allocating me a serial number for my plane and confirming that it is an original flitestar kit - without that there would have been no way I could have registered this aircraft. Tom was a production manager for the flitestars at Pioneer aircraft and he took over the rights to them when Pioneer closed up. The current flitestar has not changed much since those.

Now it's a case of collecting the last bibs and bobs - the main items outstanding is mainly still the gearbox, Instruments and radio and then we are in business. I have most of those lined up and now just waiting and chewing my nails for the bucks to come free. What I'm waiting for is a 3 month bond cancellation period to expire so I can move my bond from Crapsa to FNB as I wasn't willing to pay the R16000 penalty if I wanted to do it earlier.

Dis sommer baie goeie nuus Stephan !

Dis 'n groot stap....
Groete,
Rudi

Well done Stephan,

You have managed to pass the first major hurdle with CAA and the rest of the paperwork will be a breeze.

Sterkte en voorspoed met die bou.

1 x enigma at home(THANKS George !!!!!) -switches and circuit breakers delivered (to the wrong addres at 16:00 this afternoon by RS electronic components with whom I had a huge fight - 24 hour overnight delivery my arse)
Engine is complete - plan on starting tomorrow. Just have to still add electric backup pump but won't stop us from a test run. The rest of the wiring I'll complete over the weekend - test flight might be very close now.
