Weather has been keeping us on the ground and then I went and kicked off the Pitot tube pipe on the back of the instrument. All fixed and will be flying again as soon as the weather palys with. She is a very gentle thing and the other day the wind was blowing so that I had to land cross the runway and use a taxiway. Touchdown was at 18 mph ground speed and she was standing still before I crossed the width of the runway.

Sounds like her registration is quite apt! vhpy

One benifit is the slower she can fly, the slower you'll hit terra firma and the better your chance of survival if something goes wrong - kinetic energy is proportional to the square of the speed....

Excellent... Nice to see a grass roots aerie and someone enjoying it rather than having to listen to what a death trap it is or see it rotting away in back of a hangar... (^^) (^^) (^^)

So I decided to buy this little Dualstar a few months ago...

Did conversion with Andy and had her delivered by Stephan (BIG thank you!) vhpy

Stripped her, resprayed her, checked the engine, redid the panel and rebuilt her and now have a lot of fun in ZU-FEE. Myself and my son have now done 44 hours in her and she purrs along. Fitted Paul's Airmagic radio and intercom system and it works bloody well.

Having so much fun in her that I am neglecting the Cessna and Cheetah.

Photos of before and after..

Took her to Ultra City 2 weeks ago for breakfast and to Dundee this last Sunday - Magnificent!!

Was good to do this little project and save an old aerie - Thanks again Stephan.

This is really great news!! (^^)

Flybynite can you/Stephan elaborate a bit about the problems that have been resolved with this plane? I recall Stephan having significant problems with stability or something that almost seemed as if it was doomed to the scrap heap. I also recall that there were issues wrt the engine? What motor is fitted and how is it performing?

I am asking this purely out of curiosity and interest - not to point fingers at all. would like to learn from your experience.

It is so good te hear that she is flying successfully and being enjoyed as well

May you have many safe hours in her (^^) (!!)
