Oupa, dit lyk baie mooi. Is daardie "Festo" pypies? Local ROCK!!!! vhpy vhpy

That wing is stroooong. I think we could have kept it the liftstrut brackets where they were and just lengthened the stiffeners. We have now moved the bracket otboard with 330mm and lenghtened the stiffener(I-Beam) from 990mm to 1200mm. We also increased the wall thickness of the liftstrut from 0.9mm-1.2mm. If you compare to the Super Sport we have here wich has a 700kg all up weight. It has a 1.5mm main spar with only 11 ribs where we have 13 and a 2mm main spar. I have all the faith in this wing.

KFA isn't it wonderful the Loeriesfontein Komatipoort Durbanville effort. I think the end result will be super. Die manne se bekke gaan "drool". I was going to Verneukpan for an extended weekend but my Bosvarkie is screaming for rivets and wiring so 4 days of intensive grafting. Had the final meeting with the people that are making the Oil radiator. We clarified some measurments and the pipe fittings. You need an experienced british brain to understand and remember the BSP fittings and to make it even more complicated we are throwing in some NPT fittings . Unluckily this is dominated by the availability of the heatsensors. I need these sensors to be able to judge the efficiency of the cooling system. As soon as I have the radiator the pictures will follow.

What a wonderful response 16000 hits in 5 months , of course I'm responsible for 15500 hits. We hope not to disappoint the viewers. All I can say is that a lot of love and tender care has gone into this project and we hope that a lot of fellow aviators are going to have a lot of pleasure from this aircraft.

The I beams should go in tomorrow then final rivets on the liftsrut brackets and the leading edge cuffs. Wing will be ready for load testing by end next week. We need to leave the glue for 7 days to reach full strength. (^^) I think for the heck of it we might test an explorer wing also.

Took the day of work and hit the town to buy various ods and sods. As Boet remarked the Festo tubing is a Poly-urethane tubing and rated to 10bar the nylon brake tubing from Hyflo is rated to 30bar so got myself the roll of that it comes in 30 meter roll should be enough for 3 Safarie's I also checked the specs on the push-in fittings versus the brass fitting's the push-in are rated to 30bar Boet reckons they will pop I will do the tests and report back. Nothing like testing. Also bought the necessary stainless for the exhaust and the making of that will give a nice series. The more you read about exhausts the more you realize that it is all black magic and so the 912S exhaust has been cut open and the necessary inspiration has been gotten. I also got lovely hose protection it is fire proof I have used this product on my Vansin with great success and when you look under the PC12 cowling they also use this product in abundance, so another inspiration it should actually be the industry standard. Tomorrow it is me and Epidermix finishing the brackets on the cowling and waiting for Vliegvark to come back from his weekend so that he can start tacking the exhaust.

Saturday evening. It was very hot and humid in the fairest. I put on the fan and persevered. Got some Epidermix 372 to glue the stainless strenghthernes in the cowling .Cleco's are a wonderful extra pair of hands. I admire the people that work with composites all the time, I just did some minor work and without little trouble I could manage to have the epoxi all over me in my beard the little hair I have and not on the area that I want it. I persevered and still managed to fix the` job . A friend of mine arrived to check on the progress and I was mentioning that I wanted to go to the model shop to buy some carbon rods to use on the stabilisation of the brake line on the steel gear. He mentioned that the arrows he uses are just the thing he dissapeared and minutes later I was the owner of a useless arrow. Seeing that arrows fly I decided that it is suitable aircraft materials. I cut of short lenghts spaced them by this time I had Epoxi on every finger and placed them. The day was so hot that after 4hrs I could test the fittings and the end result is pleasing. Once the gear is painted it should look quite smart and functional. That is all for this evening I must still clear up before everything has set.
