Yep, when I reach (what I think is) a milestone I like to do something else for a while...
So I started making mock ups of the dash I want using masonite. ICP sent the outline DWG to John W, so I just produced the cut outs etc using TurboCad (If anyone wants the file your are welcome).
Below is the result, where the layout takes in my 250 hours experience driving a TBird.

What sits on top of the dash is a Garmin 296.
A close up of the centre (below)shows the MGL Eng monitor (saves the weight of 4 VDO's, plus a rev counter , and I get 2 * EGT's) and MGL's fuel flow which handles 2 sensors for diff calcs.
I chose the Icom as its a relaible no bull radio (not using it's intercom) with big displays which is perfect for guys like me that can see forever as long as its further than 2.5 feet away.
Then I added the best intercom I could find (PS Engineering) that has separate squelch controls (I will be flying with doors off sometimes and the co pilot drives me crazy when their mike breaks squelch) and it has external audio input for Ipod.
The rectangle cut out bottom right will be a cubby hole for charts etc.
Start with wing skins this weekend...
What have I missed ? Comments ?
Cheers
