Dankie Kobus. Mengels for the sake of the English speaking readers. I am very pleased for the positive feedback we are getting on this tread. The BB has come a long and sometimes bumpy road, but at long last we have a lot of very loyal and enthusiastic followers, who also no doubt are realizing the true potential of these delightfull little aeroplanes. What makes me even MORE proud, is the fact that this is a truly South African product. We are aiming to have a couple of them on EVERY airfield in South Africa. I'm drilling and riviting and nothing seems to happen except the bosvarkie is slowly getting closer to finishing. The position of the oil-cooler has been finalized , it will be inside the cowl in the rear top and the ducting will be part of the upper cowl the lower cowl will take care of the baffling round the cylinders and there will be special ducting over the sump. A lot of time is being spent on the optimization of the cooling. There is nothing worse the flying with an engine that is marginally cooled. As soon as it becomes hot and high then the amount of air molecules become less to carry away the heat , so sea-level is easy but Upington on a hot day must also be catered for.
The header tank has been fitted the engine has been hung and the 3d picture where to put all the components is coming nicely into place. Foto's will follow soon

The cooling baffeling system is nearly complete on the BMW engine. The basic design is the same as the Lycoming or the continental air cooled engines. I can see no reason why it will not be as efficient. All the 3 BB`s has now been given their final coat silver dope. Ready for spray-painting. We are very busy. vhpy

Very busy end of year with work also the RedX flying is eating bosvark time but all the fittings for cowl are finished fitted header tank with all the dual fuel fittings with drain and the venting system. Sending some foto's to wet apetite and to judge the size.I'm 187 cms I mean tall not around the Weber part of my delicate body. The RedX foto was taken in Mussina 9hrs PC12 time in one day. I'm looking forward to the Stratomaster Voyager then the Bosvarkie will be more sofisticated then the PC12 with its 3D terrain airdata computor etc. With Xmas coming up and my son from Europe the project will slow down but middle JAN we will be at it full blast.

Compliments of the season

Busy with the camloc fittings quite a job getting 32 wholes alighned it is a bit like having a table with 32 legs on an uneven floor.
It is a lesson in accurate drilling and fitting every part seperately. Fingers are full of holes run out of band-aids but the job must go on.

Nice Sunday
