:D Jaaaaa, ek het jou mos nog nie ontmoet nie, maar ek verstaan jy is maar ook n duidlike seun. ( n Hele paar k@kke agter en n klomp maaltye voor?  )
Today I put the lads to work on the wings. They are now busy fitting the NEW  leading edges, and doing a fantastic job. The fairings have already been fitted to the lift struts. She is coming on nicely now. Waiting for feedback on the VDO instruments. :D

VDO classic's too expensive at this stage and the fact that we will have to add "normal" flight instruments I don't think justifies the cost. (R15000 for the classic gauges alone)

Baie mooi Boet! =D*

Die kleurskema lyk great! !!!!

This is going to be a really unique Explorer - the Rotec is so beautiful its almost sad to hide it in a cowl - how about a speed ring only? :D

Very nice Boet,

A Speed ring cuts down on drag and improves cooling.

A big Cropsprayer like the Ag Cat is better to fly at full loads with a speed ring. Fuel consumption is also marginally down. So I have been told anyway.

Ja will be one beautifull airie when completed.

Kind regards,

Gunter Rostek.

Today we glued the glasfibre leading edge panels to the wings. You will notice that we hang the wings in a vertical position. ( LE up) The reason? If you glue the LE panels on with the wing laying flat, it will take a slightly "bent" permanent set. Nothing like experience.... While the glue dries, I have started on the brake system. I understand that you guys want DUAL brakes. OK, Dual brakes it will be. :D

Master cyl`s. Note this is not the animals`. :D I was out on other bussiness today. Pics will follow tomorrow. While I was out the lads finished fitting the leading edges. We do the sections over the petrol tanks last, because you cannot RIVIT  the LE panels to the tanks? So they have to lay flat with a couple of weights added untill the glue sets. Fhoto added by kind request for MOGAS

Have a nice evening.

Brakes conected, fitted, fluid in, bled and WORKING. Seriaas brakes. Oh yes, and I found the right cowling. OK?? :D And another one of the brake pedals inside. It may LOOk a bit akward, but belief you me, this system, once you are used to it, really works best on these aries. ( I have tested the whole bloody shebang. )
I am moving my spray shop this week, so could not really work on the aeries a lot. Next week: FULL steam ahead again. I got fed up for constantly having to carry the aeries around to the adjacent building. Not good for my buggered back. Everything is now under the same roof, and the adjacent building is up for sale. :D

Mmmm... jammer man, ek het al weer drooggemaak met die fotos se laai. While I got busy figuring out the engine mounting, the lads tackled the wings. Do you want 2 lights in the wing tips? NOT landing lights, more like "HERE I AM !!! lights. ?? :D :D

:D So jy dink daai cowling is mooi?? :D
