Yup, I obviously made more mistakes than I knew I had.
One that was not even mentioned was to fit the leading edges on the wings prior to the fitment of the wings to the fuselage together with the jury struts. I was going to simply make a window where I removed the fiberglass in the jury strut area.
I did find the tanks difficult to install but was too scared to remove too much material in case I opened a void. I am glad this has been sorted.
Where I am totally confused is where I went wrong with the I beams. I did not round off by hand, I jigged it into my lathe & was quite proud of the results. This worries me big time because of our collective asses in a sling in such an important area.
Boet, can you please give details of the buggerups so that other builders don't make the same mistakes I made
Has the wing got the correct washout & are they straight. I'm kinda worried now.
Congrats are in order, she is really looking fantastic. :D :D :D :D :D

:D The mistakes you made? You did not RTFM. NO varnish
The stiffeners not upright. Stiffeners not in right position, and not screwed in correctly as per the manual. Fortunately I could rectify. The glasfibre leading edges I had to remove. They looked bloody awfull. I am re-doing the whole damn lot. Unfortunately could not re-use the originals. We fitted the wings to the fus, and measured everything VERY accurately, you can sleep easy, she will fly straight as an arrow. The flapperons have also been fitted. All controlls working :D
I will post some phodies this week.
