Today, the wind died down sufficient for me to spray the gold secondary trim. Lo an behold: Doesn`t look all bad. Rather classic. Kids are coming to visit this weekend, then will have camera for some phodies. I will try to get The Animal`s wheels on tomorrow, so we can see what an Explorer will look like as a taily. Can hardly wait. :D :D :D :D

Boet
I saw your post on Acom looking for a tailwheel for "The Animal"
If you don't win with Scott or Maule try my plan:
viewtopic.php?t=3629&highlight=tailwheel+mod
Simple to make, Works a treat, costs nothing but a bit of elbo grease.
If this drawing does not make sense, I have a better Autocad one converted to pdf I could pm you.

And today we have been extremely busy, wings fitted. Tomorrow the sheetmetal work around cabin and flapperons gets fitted. Doors halfway there as well. Waiting for a couple of loose ends to get the plane onto it`s gear. ( Tyres???) :D

Flapperons installed, doors glued, and then I started with the tanks....... LOTS of reverse-engineering needed there. Someone REALLY painted himself in all sorts of uncomfortable corners. Then I got suspicious of the spar stffeners. Good thing. I will now sleep better. Work progressed good today. We hope to continiue with this trend tomorrow. :D

Hi Boet,

Can you maybe post a pic showing how spar stiffeners should not be done.

Kind regards,
