Hi mate,
Yes, I flew it for a year or so after that and then sold it to someone in Ngodwana after getting hold of a MXII.
I've had two MXII's after that on different occasions. Also had two MAC CDLs and a Basic 4000 along the line. Apart from that type I've also owned and flown a Koala, XRC and a Mizer. Done more than 400 hours on the MXIIs alone. Yes, I really like them. Not very fast, but very safe. Can virtually land and take off in ones back yard. Those spoilerons connected to the rudder pedals allows one to accurately control decent rate and one could virtually put it down anywhere. I delivered the last one from Rhinopark to Witbank in extremely gusty conditions, so yes, they are not limited to the calmest of conditions only. I have very fond memories of the type.

Hi all,
Now only the other side then I can hang the engine! I think my idea works well and this should be one sturdy engine mount. I also purchased all the wood to finish off the widened canopy. However, I'll first hang the engine before I continue with that.
In the meantime I've found myself a Mizer MKIII microlight again. I really like the type and had lots of fun with something similar before - my affordable version of a Cheetah or Bushbaby. Performance wise she's exactly the same. So now I can at least focus on getting my licence current again and can also look forward to some serious flying whilst I'm building. Life is good...

Hi all,
This will be my new baby that will get & keep me flying once again whilst I'm busy building my extremely modified KR2. I'm really looking forward to it. I really looooong to fly again...
Building is nice, but flying is much better!
Mind you, with the current engine & wrong prop combination the KR2 will perform more or less the same: Stall at 45mph and cruise at 75mph. At least a new properly pitched prop will up the cruising speed to around 120mph and later to 150mph when I exchange the Rotax 532 with the Rotax 583.

Klip in die bos tyd, ek ken daai Mizer aka die vlieënde bad! Daai motor is in puik meganiese toestand en dis 'n 618, dit sal mos perfek wees vir daai KR van jou so hoekom sit jy hom nie daar in nie?

Glo dis 'n goeie idee, maar ek sal nie graag die Mizer wil strip nie. Ek het die vorige Mizer baie geniet en dit was maar 'n 582. Hierdie een gaan baie lekker vlieg. 'n Trike sal ek strip, want 'n trike het nie waarde by my nie. Ek voel egter heeltemal die teenoorgestelde oor die Mizer.
Die 583 is nou oppad na my. Ek bou nou maar eers vir die 532. Nadat sy vlieg sal ek my enjin opsies oorweeg. Dit veroorsaak te veel verwarring vir nou. So amper het ek die Aquilla gestrip en dan was hierdie Mizer nooit myne nie???
Alles het so mooi uitgewerk. In een enkele dag die Mizer gekry, 'n hangar gekry en nuwe inspeksie vir ATF laat doen. Kon nie vir beter gevra het nie.
Ek is baie, baie, baie tevrede met hierdie Mizer. Nee, ek is SUPER tevrede met my nuwe aerie! Nie 'n oomblik spyt oor my ruil transaksie met die Aquilla nie!!! Ek ruil haar nie terug vir 10 Aquillas nie...

See what my previous Mizer looked like - yet I had tremendous fun with it. This one has much more power, has a far superior propeller, is much more steamlined & does not even look nearly as worn. This time round I'll not be ashamed to be seen in our Mizer. And soon me & Monica will start to go places with it. I'm really looking forward to it all.

Progress is rather slow as I'm not building from a kit or from plans. Everything needs an idea first before I can fabricate it. All in all I think everything is coming together rather nicely.
Had to remove the carburators & silencer as they are in harms way for the moment. I'll put those back shortly.
Here's a more detailed view of the engine mount. Notice that rear of engine touches mount. I'll have to remove engine once again and cut slots in top angle beams to clear. So engine installation not done properly yet.
So far most of it fits rather nicely into the existing VW cowling. All I have to do to it is some minor modifications. It would be hard to tell she's got a different engine looking from the outside.
