Max

Does the Takeover Fee apply in addition to the Application Fee, or does it apply instead of it, if you are taking over (i.e. purchasing) another aircraft. We have just bought an aerie. Do I apply to take over the old licence, or do I simply start from scratch?

Thanks

Rod
Costs the same if you take over or start from scratch. What I suggest is download the form from internet, do electronic transfer. Keep this proof of payment in the folder as proof of RSL and then start the tedious process of getting the papiertjie from ICASA. I keep my account in credit by R48, so they post me the new license every year.

Thanks 4ker

I went there yesterday and was helped by a pleasant and competent fellow, a Mr Thumbran. I filled the forms in there and then and have this morning sent of the money. I shall follow your advice and send off another R48 00 once the paperwork comes through.

MAX thanks for the info.
NOW:
I have filled in the form.
What do I do with it from here?
Take it to the post office? There is a PO slip at the back.
Or fax it to the number given for Carol :?:
And what do I tick in the front? "New radio communication service" ?

Phone Carol and ask her

I believe you can take it to any Post Office. On the front tick "New communication service' in application type and then "Aeronautical" in Type of service

I just spoke to Carol (details above) at ICASA,
she has been transferred to a new dept.
Her replacement is:
MARINDA ROBBERTSE
011-566-3347
011-566-3348 fax

Very friendly and on the ball,
the FORMS are not avail on their site to download right now,
they made changes and this was "left" out,
she will e-mail them to you.

I posted on this site on the 14th of August with contact details of who to speak with.
She mentioned that it would take about 6 weeks for them to post me the original doc,
it arrived in the post this week, exactly 6 weeks as promised,
NOT BAD. s023 s023 s023

I got mine in 2 weeks puff . Jhb office is not great. I have found the other aera's (specifically Bfn) far more efficient...
