Not sure I know what you are referring to about the bunch of folk at tupperware party?

The issues at stake are the freedom of flight!

I will post a mail just now and give you a little idea of what the hell is going on.

Please all take this with the seriousness it deserves and limit answers to constructive input.

Thankyou.

Regards.

I agree fully that the issues at stake here are to do with the freedom of flight. Yes they are serious and my intension is not to make fun of any one individual. Does ANYBODY know what is going on? Surely these matters must be documented somewhere or are we dealing with grey areas? It may not make flying less safe as I don't think that someone is intensionaly going to scribble themselves all over some mielie field. What are the legalities if there is an accident? Is my insurance company going to shaft me? I don't want to be illegal.

David you are right, this is a serious issue and we really do need answers

We tried debating it a while back on this forum but the conversation died out.

Keep us posted and if neccessary lets rally the troops with a combined response.

I'm supporting you

A mail from David Levy (Duif), in the middle of the night some time on SAMicro. Things have been VERY quiet since then....
Hey Manne,

Looks like I have to re-join the unwashed masses once again....... shift up
there and give me some room man !!

I have been the Aeroclub treasurer for the last five years but on Tuesday
this week I saw my gat. Why? Small thing really - over the last year or so
I have added my voice to those sections of Aeroclub that opposed an attempt
by the Chairman and the General Manager of Aeroclub to start their own mini
Aeroclub/CAA using funds to be apparently provided by the CAA. My opposition
appears to have made an unfavourable impression on the powers that be.

This new organisation would not be run by the the Aeroclub sections but
instead would be controlled by Board members invited "on board" by the
current Aeroclub Chairman, Stan Oliver and possibly Neil De Lange who of
course allocated to themselves the positions of Executive Chairman and CEO
respectively of this new body with salaries to go with the job.

Now I dont represent a constituency on Aeroclub like the various section
reps, who automatically have a seat on the Aeroclub Board. So I had to be
co-opted onto the Board as Treasurer each year for the last 5 years. This
year again, I advised Neil De Lange that I was avaiable for re-appointment.
But they (Stan and Neil) quietly went and looked for another guy to be
Treasurer and put his name in the hat for nomination at the Annual General
Meeting which took place on this last Tuesday. They did not tell me that
they were going to nominate another Treasurer and they did not tell me that
this year, for the first time since I have been on the Board, they were
going to carefully follow the rules which apparently require advanced notice
for appointment of co-opted members. In past I was simply asked during AGM
if I was prepared to volunteer for a further year and I always said yes. But
that was the past, before I stirred. So come the AGM my name was apparently
received too late to be put into the hat so the other guy got the job by
default.

Nice people to do busineess with...........or as they say, nice business to
do people with.!!! So I guess I will be outside the tent pissing in for a
while.

As regards the proposed new body, I believe that Stan and Neil were - on
Tuesday - made to scrap their proposal. However, I also understand that they
may go back to the drawing board to look for a better way to make use of the
funds that the CAA apparently are willing to provide. But at least I can
rest my bruised and weary arse and ego knowing that my efforts (and those of
the dissenting sections) have not been in vain. But I will watch
developments with interest. Trust no one, I say, and always sleep with one
hand on the light switch !!!

Of course this now frees me up to persecute ou Moth-balls and other flat
earthers who appears not to want to have anything to do with me no more and
to expand on my view of the universe for the benefit of all you other
illiterates out there so that when the World Microlight Cup takes place here
in 2011 you will all have an idea of which fingers to use to eat the
cocktail sausages during the welcoming speeches and how to say "Welcome to
Panorama Airfield - if you have any female ground crew please register them
with Duif" in 35 official languages.

Did you know that the reason that water runs down hill is because the
surface of the earth is curved?

Duif
