Where is Part 187 ATF prescribed fee info?

Postby D2O » Sun May 26, 2013 4:13 pm

I'm stumped, and it's not the first time over this :(
RAASA's website details all the requirements of the ATF, and quotes "12. Proof of payment of the prescribed fee as in Part 187;"
Well, where is this Part 187, and how much do I pay?
The "fees" link on their website refers to Part 62 fees, and lists mainly pilot's license renewals.
There is one small reference to an ATF renewal with a fee of R200 on that page, but does not specify for what type of aircraft? It also says to use the pilots license number as payment reference??? Why not the plane's registration? I'm confused. Will someone please let me know how much to pay, and what to put as a reference when paying?

Ok, so I found Part 187 on the CAA's website!
It is on Government Gazette number 34028.
I presume I need to refer to fees relating to Part 24 on the gazette?:
"187.01.4(a) For the issuing of an authority to fly or an amendment thereof (regulation 24.02.2) - R200"

Ok, so RAASA's website reference must be the one I was looking at. So what do I put as payment reference? Surely I should put the plane's registration?
RAASA, please fix your fees page! It's way too confusing! (**)

So after a wild guess at R200, and using the aircraft registration as reference in the payment, RAASA accepted it, and I now have a fresh ATF!
Thanks for all the help goes to...me! (**)
In case anyone else has issues with the fee, at least this topic may help. ($$)

Hi Noel,

Apologies as I only saw this thread now.

The fees are stated on Raasa's website under "Authority to fly Renewal" but yes is is a bit confusing to read.

Just call them next time...they are usually very helpful. (^^)
