Dropping objects from my trike

Postby Chris Liebenberg » Tue Apr 28, 2009 12:54 pm

As part of a fund raising campaign, the local High Schools wants me to drop flour bombs from my trike onto the school’s rugby field.

What permissions do I need to:
• Fly low level over populated area
• Dropping objects from the aircraft.

What other legal aspects do I need to take care of?

Thanks
Chris

Why not give CAA a call ? 011 545 1000 and ask to speak to an events consultant or maybe Andre Swanepoel at CAA to put you in the right direction. Before you do this, check your ATF to see if you are allowed to operate over public events or built-up areas. vhpy

Your not allowed to fly over built up areas, and dropping objects would mean that your well below the mandatory 1000 ft limit.... andres a good lad, have a word with him. Not being flippant but i see your in lydenburg, maybe the schools on the outerlying areas???

Otherwise - Just do it. Easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission... (kidding) - !!! (**)
