SAGPA and Part 24

Postby t-bird » Wed Oct 24, 2007 2:08 pm

Part 24 will come into effect from 1 Jan 2008.

You will not be allowed to change your own sparkplugs and change oil or inspect your magnetic plug on the engine. Only an AP allowed.
And forget about those VP props and pneumatic prerotators and fuel flow meters, nice leather seats, bigger radiators, extra electrical points. Not approved per original design on engine and have to come off.

Did SAGPA do anything to stop this?

If so what was the outcome?

If not, may write a standard petition, e-mail it to all the members and fax or mail it to the CAA.

Time is running out!

I volunteer my time in sending e-mails to members and to follow-up any outstanding mails.

Regards

Callie

It looks like the Aeroclub and other parties that are defending our case have been overwhelmed by querries on this subject. The message is clear. They are looking into it and get a definate "interpretation" of Part 24 as everyone seems to understand it differently. They will come back to us in due time. So lets wait and see...
Flying is like dancing, it is a love affair between the pilot and his aircraft
