Cobra

Just as an indication, I don't have the latest prices:

MT-03 = +- R 460 000-00
ELA = +- R 530 000-00
Magni = +- R 650 000-00

I think the Seycamore = +- R 390 000-00

Perhaps guys with more accurate prices can help.

This should be all inclusive and delivered.

Thanks, had a look at the specs and all are very similar. Without taking the price in consideration the MT-03 is stunning. Then there is the price.

Question how difficult is it to learn/adapt flying a gyro ? and not end up with 30 hours trying to go solo :D

At the price it is definitively an option taking in consideration what the GT450 sells for, and having the advantage in taking off at 10:00 and not at 06:00 with the trike :evil: except if you Dieselfan that is :wink:

I will be in touch with the guys at Springs.

Anyone know of a hanger for Cobra along side at new MT-03 8)

Thanks for the space on the post Hennie, side tracked a bit

Hi Cobra, you can import a single seater kit motor and all ( Rotax 582 ) from the USA flys at 75mph can do a lot that most Gyros can not do, loop, barrle roll do a 180 in mid flight take off verticaly in a 20 kt wind and has real short field take off abbility it has a tilting roto mast so you can store it in a normal garage, I have a DVD on this craft it just blows your mind. have to have one before I die. cost landed in SA +/- 180k
I will be building one in the very near future.

Based on a recent comment it's the plane not the pilot. :roll: :wink:

As with all flying licences - it's not difficult to learn, it depends on the student.

There's a guy currently training with me at Brakpan. Just completed his PPL. Went for a flip in a gyro and was hooked. :lol: Started gyro training and went solo within 6 hrs. The basics of take-off, landing and flying is all the same, just need to learn the rotor control, wich is not that difficult.

Unfortunately he still have to do the full 25 hours for GPL. :cry:

mak's prices are spot-on, except MT-03 going for R 494 000.

DF did all the hard work ($$) elsewhere, and did his grand post on Gyro talk - (^^)

Good one !!!

Thanks Ldel, it seems all straight forward and "easy" I have a PPL with 200h and hope that will be to my advantage.

Must say, converting to MPL was not that easy with that flippen bar as the only control input and then doing it in the opposite direction, that's only for natural pilot :D

Thanks for the info.

Shot thanks Cobra, didn't notice the time!

Does that mean I can go for a flip in one -0< ':- ?

So if one of the major reasons for Gyro's been so pricey are the Rotax engines, why not more Subarus? I haven't read of many engine outs with them, heavy yes but seem very reliable.

How long do Gyro's last? ie almost like a value for money equiv to trikes. What are the various tbo's.
