This years AGM will be held at Carnarvon on 20 September 2014.
The AGM will start @ 16h00 with the informal function the evening @ 19h00.
We hope to see you all there.

Very glad to see this! We will be bringing a gaggle from Cape Town for sure.
Carnarvon has been a fantastic venue before so we'll do our best to get there this time.
Lets hope the weather plays along this year.

As soon as we here from organizors we can let know what we can arrange (meals ,taxi , bar, hangar dance , konka fires to chat around at night ,security etc) and what the cost will be.The sooner we hear the better for getting some sponsors to lower costs.

We will hopefully confirm the final numbers with you in the next week. I have requested all interested parties to respond before 5 August and then we can finalize.

We will make a final decision on Friday 8 August 2014 if this event will go ahead, depending on the confirmed numbers for this event.

To-date we have 18 confirmed gyros, 27 confirmed gyro pilots with 6 guests attending.

Ai, what has become of the 'GEES' that used to exist amongst Gyro fanatics around the country?
I recall Gariep with almost 80 Gyro's a few years back - now the best we can do is 18? Why is this when our sport is growing all the time?

Well, we'll be a gaggle of Gyro's coming up from Cape Town to visit Rob & the Carnarvon people in any event. Feel free to join us, no matter what you fly.

Just to let you know what we are plan to have available.

Friday 19 Sept. Tuckshop/Snoepie (hamburgers ,Coldrinks,chips etc)
Karoo lamb braai the evening
Cash bar available all day
Konka fires to chat around the evening

Sat as above except evening meal will be Potjie and we would like to hold a hangar dance where local public could attend
A 20 seater taxi is available.
Security guards will be provided at night.

Will let know of a price for the above excluding accommodation as soon as possible.

Herewith just a confirmation that the North / South event and AGM at Carnarvon is a go ahead.

We still have a few people uncertain, but we have 38 confirmed people of which 30 is gyro pilots with 20 gyros.

Over the next few weeks we will keep everyone updated on the latest information for the event as we confirm it with the hosts.

Please remember to book your accommodation and confirm your fuel requirements with me before the end of August.

Anyone interested in going to Carnarvon and want to join a group in your area, please contact me and I will advice of people in your area going to Carnarvon.

Camping at the airfield will not be a problem .There are toilet facilities and a rather primitive shower facility. We will have a 'kagel' in the small hanger where meals will be held in the evening . .You are most welcome to sleep there.There are security guards that will also make coffee in that hangar.Much warmer in the guesthouses.

There will be a flight to the Van Wyksvlei pans the Sat morning for a brunch.This is where a number of aspiring Gyro pilots learned to fly before flying schools took over.
Hope to see many of you at Carnarvon.Come and enjoy some Karoo hospitality.
