Hi
Newly registered in South Africa during October 2012 were
ZU-RIF ROTARY AIR FORCE 2000 GTX SE FI - c/n 032 - the 32nd South African built by SA RAF - these are selling well in SA
ZU-RII AUTOGYRO MTOsport, M00945 - ie MT-03/MTOsport # 945 - who will be the owner of ship #1000
Hopefully the new owners can post a photo of their new machines on the forum.
Steve

Does the 32 include the kits that were brought in before SA RAF bought the factory? How many sold world wide? Looks like MT has sold 945.

Jo, those are good numbers. Just to make sure I understand correctly, you are actually manufacturing all the parts, reduction drives, rotors, cabins and so on all in South Africa. If so, it must be very good news for our industry..

A, sorry, if I read properly, I see that the question was about kits coming into the country BEFORE Eben bought the business...
Now I am still interested to find out if you are actually manufacturing the parts locally by now, or are you still assembling kits bought with the business?

Hi
A look at the data for November shows no newly registered gyros.
But it did show one cancellation
ZU-GJP MT-03 - cancelled as exported.
Question - can any kind soul tell me which country this has moved on to please - thank you.

That was my one that was sold to a Namibian. After having 4 gyro's and around 13 yrs of gyro flying, I have decided to take a sabbatical from gyro's for a short while. Gyro's are still amazing machines to fly.
I'm having an identity crisis with my pseudonym on the forums, as I'm no longer a "FO" which stood for First Officer, which is the same as a co-pilot, as I have just got my command at SAA which has taken almost 15 yrs (plus my 6 years previous experience), and I am now gyro-less, although I bought a very nice used Merc ML. "FO Gyro" is going to have to be changed to "Captain ML" maybe

Glenn, I do hope your sabbatical from gyro flying is not a long one. You've played a very significant role in growing gyro aviation in South Africa over the years, and your excellent paper on gyro safety has been widely distributed and read around the world. Congratulations on your new left-seat position and I hope it's not too long before we see you in the air again with a rotor above your head
Regards, Dave
