Join overhead at 6200, decend dead side (dws WES en join Righthand vir 01 - of Lefthand vir 19)

Sien jou Saterdag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gather that those not speaking Afrikaans have the right to join as they wish anywhere and anytime ##

Sorry Vertical Tango we just assumed that if you can build your own Xenon from a Polish manual you can understand Afrikaans joining procedures. We just thought you have a better chance of understanding Afrikaans than Pieter Smith understanding English   .
Jean-Pierre, I assume you are flying via the Pinedene corridor. Once out of WAFB control (124.1) just make a call on Special Rules East (125.4) and then almost immediately to Kitty Hawk (120.65). Join & call overhead @ 6200 feet and descent on deadside (west of the airfield) and join left downwind for 19 or right downwind for 01. Circuit altitude between 5200 and 5500 feet. Once on the ground change to ground control (121.65) and a grumpy voice will give you taxi and parking instructions.

Thanks MAK. You probably meant deadside = East of Airfield ?

Hi Mak,

Any joining instructions and frequencies for us poor blokes who are not (yet) airborne? I suppose we join from the east of the field at 0ft AGL and taxi to parking behind the clubhouse? I trust arrangements have been made to clear away drool around the parked airies in order to comply with Health and Safety regulations.

I am certainly looking forward to Saturday.

Didn't you hear? They had Trikenut there taking photos and that tends to take a while before they get posted

It was a really nice day, thanks guys and girls!

I really enjoyed meeting some new people, putting faces to some of the names on here and generally 'chewing the fat' with fellow gyronauts.

After some of us grounded ourselves and sat around socialising, one of our well known members of this forum came and started giving me the gears about Sycamores etc... ($$) ($$) ($$) The next minute, his chair collapses! bwahahaha... couldnt resist the kodak moment! Talk about "blinde sambok!"

It transpires that he is a Sycamore owner himself (ZU-CFW) and was simply having me on. This did not detract from my pleasure at seeing him flat-out on the ground at the time!

Swannie, Leon, Darren, Marius, Juanita, Gerrit, Llewellyn, Butch, Anthony, Eric, Greg, Glen, Johan, Frans... too many to mention individually actually... Thanks for making it a special day for Christine and I. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and are safely home in Hout Bay again.

Oh, and the SAGPA meeting went off very well too... you'll be hearing more about that soon.
