Hi All
Ok so I am guessing I have got your attention. I have been speaking to various people over my time here in SA and everyone seems to be in agreeance that Gyro's need to be promoted in a more posisitve light. Back at home each year we hold a National titles and pilots from all over Oz attend, this year the tiltes were held in my home state of Western Australia and we had approximately 20 -25 gyros show up. 3 members flew in excess of 3000km each way to attend and one of those flew without any ground crew support at all.
So I am putting it out there that maybe we can look at holding a SA National titles. A weekend that comes to mind would be the Kitty Hawk flyinn that is held in November each year.
Maybe we could even make it a 3 day event and include the Friday, activites could include the following
- SAGPA AGM
- CAA information session including an open forum for Q+A.
- Manufacturers information session - new products, safety and technical issues.
- Gyrocopter and aviation equipment supplier displays.
- Flying displays.
- Intro flights.
- Competition days - Spot landing comp, flour bombing and navigation rally.
- Saturday night dinner
- Sunday Brai and trophy presentation - Trophys for competition winners, Longest distace flown, Overall Champion etc
Ok so I have put the idea out there, lets se if we have enough interest to make it a reality.
Cheers
Darren
