Found this article in a British flying magazine. Irishman Norman Surplus is flying his MT-03 Gyro in what is to be a record breaking attempt around the world. A major part of the record attempt is for Cancer awareness. Apparently a gyro is the one type of flying machine that has never ever completed a round the world trip before in flying history.

He left Ireland on March 23 2010, and plans on taking 4 months to complete the 43 000 km journey. He is presently in Thailand. Goto: http://www.gyroxgoesglobal.com/

Good luck Norman.

And I thought flying from Joburg to the Cape was far in a gyro...

Been following this ...

Oops, seems Norman has ditched in a lake but is ok!
Not much news yet seems Density Altitude got him on takeoff. Shame, hope they can fix it or replace it quick.

Good for him for taking on this challenge! (^^)
