Thanks very much for the kind wishes. Enjoyed a quiet and relaxing day with my family at Arniston which was great. Flew up from Cape Town and had one of the most magnificaent flights along the coast. The water was crystal clear with numerous schools of fish to be seen. Between Uilenkraalsmond and Pearly Beach i counted more than 15 white sharks cruising just behind the breakers - one or two very big chaps! Of course i was cursing having not brought my camera along, when the next bay was filled with whales and their calves. Even saw a herd of springbok on the beach near agulhas which was most unusual. I did have a lump in my throat appraoching Bredasdorp and looking across to FAOB where we witnessed Dave Stock's tragic death a few weeks ago. i guess that sort of things just puts life, birthdays and friendships into real perspective - and helps us to appreciate them even more. So thanks very much for the birthday wishes - I'm grateful not only for the kind words but also the friendships that i have made, and the great people I have met through flying - and particularly from within our gyro community.
