This year we are all gathering at Gariep Dam for the 2009 SAGPA AGM.

Thanks for the notification. I just find it strange that a date and venue is set but the committee is not convened or even notified. As a matter of fact, THERE HAS BEEN NO COMMITTEE meetings held at all since the AGM last year. Does this mean that we have a very autocratic system where decisions are taken on and for our behalf simply because one person thinks he can run the show? I think method of doing things is out of line as well as out of touch with the rest of the section.

Ek het as 'n buitestaander laas jaar ingesit by die vergadering, en die daaropvolgende 3 weke my opleiding in die kaap gedoen. En gedink ek sal sodra al my probleme rondom gyro's uitgesorteer is 'n lid word van SAGPA, nee wat dis goed om so iets te he as dit goed gedoen word maar 'n mors van tyd en geld as dit nie goed en deursigtig gedoen word nie. Julle sal nie julle lede tal opstoot op die manier nie mense.
Publiseer julle agenda 2009 en minute van 2008 hier dan kan mense sien wat gaan aan by daai kliek van julle, miskien sal daar 'n paar meer mense kom na die volgende A.G.M en sommer daar aansluit by SAGPA.Ek kan uit persoonlikke ervaring vir die gyro publiek se dat daar nie dagga en drugs is nie, maar wel 'n paar sinvolle gespreke rondom die sport wat ons so lief het.

Hello Coen
Ek stem saam met alles wat jy daar se. Ongelukkig moet ons lede wees om 'n Auth to Fly te kan kry vir ons gyros. Die afgelope twee weeke moes ek redelik baie ouens inskryf by SAGPA net sodat hulle nuwe Auth to Fly kon kry. Die vraag dan op almal se lippe was "Wat kry ek daarvoor". Al antwoord wat ek kon gee was dat daar wel 'n assuransie in plek was waar sou die AP EN die eienaar lede was van Aero Cllub en die seksie(SAGPA) en iets gebeur waar die AP miskien iets nie raakgesien het nie wat eindig in 'n ongeluk, sou Aero Club 'n sekere bedrag uitbetaal. Die tweede rede is dat Aero Club die tussenganger is tussen "ons" en SACAA.
Ek stem dat ons meer terugvoer moet kry vanaf 'n komittee asook meer insete tot die komittee moet he. Op daardie manier kan ons ledetal verbeter.

Hello Gyrosa, ek het nie geweet dat dit nodig is om'n lid te wees van SAGPA om 'n nuwe ATF uitgeruik te kry nie. Van waneer af is dit so? En indien dit so is, will ek graag die volg prent skets. As mens sukkel met nuwe gyro goete en sodoende met RAASA en SACAA in kontak kom dan weet niemand wat of wie gekontak moet word nie, en nie een van die twee partye dink eers aan SAGPA nie? dis asof julle nie bestaan nie? Vir my wys dit dat komunikasie kanale tussen belanghebbende partye so swak is dat niemand weet waar die grense van hulle en hulle hulp se "authority" is nie, sodoende kry niemand niks gedoen nie.

Magnificent: Ek skryf my komentaar juis hier in die publiek sodat die bree gyro publiek dit kan sien, as ek 'n skrywe sou rig aan Sagpa sou dit 'n geslote en weereens afgesonderde gesprek wees. Kom aan moet nie mense dwing om lede te wees nie bemark julle self wees oop en bloot as die bree publiek sien hoe die ratte draai en hoe die wiele geolie, geghries bly dan sal julle oorloop van wyn en kliente wat sal help baklei dat ons sport nie doodgemaak word nie.

Begin sommer 'n seksie hier onder die hoof SAGPA dan is dit nie eers nodig om nog 'n webtuiste te onderhou nie. Ons die gyro-pilots wat eintlik SAGPA se hart en siel behoort te wees sal dit vanself laat gebeur.

Ek verstaan jou probleem, maar dit is nie bemaarking vanaf SAGPA se kant om mense te dwing om lede te word nie. Die wet op die oomblik staan so dat SACAA op sy beurt, die bevoegdheid aan RAASA kan oordra om die nodige ATF uit te reik asook lisensies. Die lisensie gedeelte was ingestel vanaf Februarie 2009 en die ATF vanaf April 2009. Aero Club, wat die storie help aan die gang sit het, het op sy beurt die assuransie waarvan ek vroer gepraat het laat instel, juis vir sy lede. Ek glo nie ons kan se dat dit is 'n slegte ding nie omdat dit vir jou beskerm asook die AP.
Aero Club op sy beurt beskerm ons ook in baie ander opsigte bv as en waaneer iemand nou regtig opneuk, sal hulle die ou via sy seksie aantree en so 'n bietjie oor die fingers tik. Ek glo nie jy wil he dat SACAA dit moet doen nie.
Die hele storie is tot jou voordeel en nie gemik teen jou as lid of persoon nie.
Ek stem saam dat daar wel meer kan gedoen word, maar dit kan net gedoen word as ons, as lede, by AGM's ens ons stem inbring. As jy nie stem nie, - kan jy nie "moan" nie.
Soveer die nuwe gyro "goete" waarmee jy sukkel 'n probleem is, skakel my gerus. Ek sal help waar ek kan.

I just spoke to Elmarie regarding the SAGPA AGM and particularly about the invitation and accommodation details.

An e-mail was sent out to all members about a week ago, and I did not receive this.

I am sure that many other members and newcomers also did not receive the email.

Please forward your contact details to info@sagpa.co.za and you will be invited as well.

I will also post the contents of this mail once I have received my email.

Net vir inligting, ek is nie op die SAGPA bestuur nie.

Jou voorstelle en probleme sien net die persone wat op die GYRO forum is, nie die persone wat jy graag wil he moet jou antwoord nie.

Ek het nog altyd reaksie vanaf Johan Meyer, die SAGPA voorsitter, gekry as ek met hom direk skakel.

Kommunikeer met die persone wat wel iets kan doen met jou voorstelle en probleme, dit werk net beter as om net op die forum te "POST".

Daar is niks fout om voorstelle te gee en dan reaksie te toets nie, dit gee punte vir die agenda op die volgende AGM

Ek is slegs 'n moderator op Gyro forum en 'n ywerige GYRONAUGHT.

The venue and accommodation details for the 2009 annual SAGPA conference and AGM have been finalised. As voted by the attending members at the 2008 AGM and keeping with the tradition to visit different parts of the country, this year’s AGM will be held at Gariep Dam.

Venue

The venue for this year’s AGM is Forever Resorts, Gariep - http://www.forevergariep.co.za/ . Forever Resorts Gariep is 200 kilometres South of Bloemfontein in the Free State, just off the N1. The Resort is situated on the banks of Gariep Dam, the largest dam in South Africa and bordering the Gariep Dam Nature Reserve, home to many species of antelope and the Cape Mountain Zebra.

Flying in

Pilots that are interested in flying in can land at the Gariep Airfield. Transport has been arranged to the resort every hour on the hour on Friday and from the resort to the airfield on Sunday.

To simplify the process of arranging fuel at Gariep, we will attempt to centrally arrange for all interested parties. Please advise me of your fuel requirements at least 2 weeks prior to the AGM at info@sagpa.co.za.

I would like to urge pilots from different parts of the country to use this as an opportunity to do a bit of cross-country flying to another part of our beautiful country and spend a couple of days getting there and back, should your time allow for it.

Thanks for the information.

Just an observation, I understand from the email that the attendees from the 2008 AGM, voted for this venue (which is a great venue, but maybe not the correctone to attarct the most members). Might it not be possible that a couple of alternative venues are selected and a poll is done on the gyro forum, which could be just a check window (normal polling GUI). This might have an effect to encourage more members to attend the AGM based on the response.

Johan Meyer was dead against us going to Gariep. ".....ek wil nie weer oor die Vrystaat vlaktes vlieg nie.....", but the delegates at the AGM proposed and voted for a central venue.

Please put up a couple of ideas for next years event that we can discus at the AGM.
