Len, I know what is the purpose of a VP. But in the case of a 914 in a gyrocopter that is a contraption less aerodynamically efficient than a fixed-wing, it is not guaranteed that you will use less fuel in cruise when you increase the pitch. What are your findings of fuel consumption in a gyro ?Gyronaut wrote: In summary, during flight the pitch is set (either automatically or manually) to optimise the amount of thrust for the given airspeed. It follows therefore that the less energy the engine has to deliver, the less fuel it uses, for sure. This is like having a bigger tank on board when it comes to duration.

Hi
Some of you may have been following the split at Celier Aviation in recent weeks - today we have a press release from Raphael.
This has been posted on the Rotary Wing Forum via
http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32523
His former business partner Artur Trendak has already got his own new website up and running offering the Xenon
http://www.autogyro.eu/index.php/en/stronaglowna
So it seems that at the moment you have two options if you wish to order a new build Xenon
Be interesting to see how this all pans out in due course.

Re: Xenon Gyro
Jip, aparently now Xenon has the best of two worlds for you.
The world renowned and internationally decorated President, test pilot, designer
has aparently absconded although the Polish factory and management are still very much intact and delivering Xenons every month. If you want a Russian Xenon wargyro with guns ablazing and stealth capabilities and possibly a knighthood to go with it, you can buy one from the ex president, test pilot , designer or maybe present president, test pilot, designer digging his heels in in Russia. I'm not sure as info is rather vague and not forthcoming. If however you want a civvy Xenon with all the normal bells and whistles as the ones we see being manufactured in the Polish factory you can buy one from the guy who has been running the show all along as I mentioned on this forum after my return from Poland in 2010.
My Xenon is still the greatest
I love this machine ! Had a wonderful two hour flip yesterday and recorded the most amazing footage over the Magaliesberg only to find upon landing that I never switched the camera on before taking off. MPI coming up next month. Nothing to report. smooth trouble free flying from week to week.

Re: Xenon Gyro
Good Day All.
I do believe that you will have a Blessed year and will continue flying safely.
There has been many questions regarding the way forward for Xenon, after the split between Artur and Raphael. I am in contact with them both and have received the following feedback.
The current Xenon gyro will be available and supported through Artur Trendak in Poland. Artur will continue with Xenon Generation 2 and 3 (Current new machine). I had discussions with Artur, they have the staff compliment and access to the engineering department at the University to continue with development for the recreational market. Their main focus will be the recreational market. Our input for improvement or special requests are channeled to them.
Raphael will focus on the commercial market and has started working on the Gen 4 machine, specifically for commercial use. There is a large order from the Russian Government and they have specific commercial requirements, hence the Gen 4. (This follows on the Colombian Military and US Dept of Justice requests) The machine is designed for commercial use and many of the lessons learnt in the commercial environment will be incorporated. This includes a bigger engine (Yamaha), a rotor with a wider cord, undercarriage for un-prepared surface operations, 120 lt fuel tank, on board tracking systems, ease of maintenance etc. Raphael will continue in Warsaw with the R&D, the factory for production, will be in Minsk in Belarus. (Making use of an established aircraft manufacturing plant.) This also gives them access to exotic materials such as titanium, carbon composites and aluminum at a better cost. The requirement is to be able to deliver at least one Xenon per day. (This should be in place in approx 4 months from now.)
With the lessons learnt over the last few years and the continued interaction with Artur, Tomasz, Darek, Marcin, Raphael, Peter and the rest of the team abroad, as well as with JvL, Mel Verity, Pierre v/d Walt, Francois Jordaan, Pierre v/d Merwe, etc, etc, I am confident that we will be supported, and that I can continue supporting any Xenon in Southern Africa.
The process of changing “Rooies” with a 33 ft rotor, a different mast, a more powerful engine, teleforce cables for pitch and roll controls, a hydraulic prerotator and also changing the hanging angle for accepting various combinations of role equipment, such as cameras, crop spraying equipment and more, on side booms, has also made us more self reliant. We now have the information to carry out support locally.
The point with this information is that, we are still working hard, to ensure that we will be able to support you, better than before. The challenge was always critical mass. With the commercial operations currently taking place, and the interaction with some other importers and agents, we are moving closer to this goal.
Greetings, and continue to fly safely, please?

Re: Xenon Gyro
Hi Braam,
Thank you for this update.
Quick question - On the 9th January RC posted about his new factory being close into Warsaw city - does the Belarus option supercede the Warsaw city location ?
Where does the KISS fit - as a recreational gyro would that sit with AT or ( as I suspect ) is this design owned by RC for him to develop/market in due course. Any plans for KISS to come to fruition in the near future?

Re: Xenon Gyro
Hi All.
I just had discussions with Artur at the factory and they are fairly busy, he has started the year with the following;
2x for France, one is delivered already
2x for Poland, one fire guard and one for farmer
2x for Finland under construction will be ready beginning March
1x for Australia Mark Bredden
1x for Kazachstan
The Gen 3 are are new getting established and we are looking forward to one in South Africa.
Go well, fly safe and always keep aware of your surroundings.
Greetings

Re: Xenon Gyro
Thanks for that update Braam - in addition one new "G3" just delivered to Turkey too, see
http://polishaircraftblog.blogspot.com/
Good to see Aviation Artur Trendak ( AAT ) going strong - no update from RC on his planned new Xenon production facility near Warsaw or Minsk.
The old CA website still shows all the former dealers listed as still representing CA, but he's not building at the moment - can we now assume you ( and likely other dealers too ) now represent the AAT Xenon product?

Re: Xenon Gyro
If you check my entries on this forum you will see that I have maintained from first hand experience that I, as so many other Xenon enthusiasts, have had a major problem with our designer, test pilot, president friend.Just surf the international sites and you will notice that all problems are directed at the ex designer, test pilot, president and not at the actual craft. Xenon is great! If you want some excellent entertainment, ask my good friend JP, vertical tango, to elaborate on our dear friend RC! He speaks French , understands the mind of our late maverick and can keep you going on stories about the world renowned gyro designer, test pilot ," president" ... of an unlisted company ???
But Arthur T on the other hand, has always to my mind been the sober one in the factory with his feet on the ground and putting his money where his mouth is. Now that the long anticipated and predictable break up between RC and the rest of the world has taken place I wil be ordering my 3 rd Xenon soon because I gladly endorse Artur and the Xenon factory which I have checked out on two occations. My last experience was a bad one but what or whoever caused it is not in the equation anymore. The Xenon is a fantastic gyroplane. I have enjoyed many happy hours in this craft and believe that I have found the ultimate in gyroplanes. I had the priviledge of owning 5 Magnis ince 1999 and I believe that I will top this number with Xenons nw that Artur has taken over the reigns in Poland. The infrastructure is great and the new generation Xenon with the "car" doors fantastic. My own Xenon now on 160 hrs without a stutter or hiccup. Tomorrow its off to... Ok, where the hell else ... Parys for breakfast.

Re: Xenon Gyro
Hi "THI"
The link you posted refers to the three seat Xenon - the "Xenon XL".
These are rare birds, I only know of two
SP-XENL - prototype ( Poland )
RA-1555G - delivered 2011 to Russia
There may be others but I've yet to stumble upon them in my research.
Don't for get that there is a more familiar Xenon 2 flying with a Yamaha engine too - LN-YUU ( Norway ) - this was registered in April 2010 and the Norwegian register clearly shows the engine type as "Yamaha" but doesn't specify a model.
