Ja SP ( Scary Pilot ) roer hulle oor die fotos. I am the only one not quilty of stretching the suspence...it is difficult for me to take pictures and fly the "Alien" at the same time. Piri took some pictures and video yesterday. Those will now be the official last hops for 2010. I am back on the 2nd and then we can continue again.
That Subaru sounds wonderfull and the sound alone want's to get you flying.
Pierre, congrats, I am so glad we made our "Mental goal" of first flight in 2010. You have put in a lot of long hours working on her and driving up and down to us. The issues on her now is small in comparison so just hang in there it is now downhill.

This is what the runway looked like 2 weeks ago....
Nature is really wonderful, after all of that we now have an excellent smooth full grass runway, but we did loose some flying time to allow the water to run off.
Now that there is grass all over the runway surface rain is just about no issue now, we had 70 mm and the next day we were in the air again.
Scary, don't miss the farm on your next visit, you will not believe your eyes, it is 1.6 km of teh smoothest grass you have seen......genuine..

Mamma Goose,
I dont quite follow. Is it mealies in the back ground?.The scenery looks different to me.The second photo looks like the road leading to the house or the runway intersection.Looks to me like the whole runway washed away on the last photo. Are these photos after the last heavy rains? Can see the pylons very faintly in the background.
What are your immediate perceptions of the alien?

Hi Wagtail, why back to the original tail feathers? The gyro looks great in the air.

Re: CAA Certification on the UFO Gyro
I am glad this topic has been active while we were busy with the UFO, small pedal modification to improve rudder conrtol to the left and we are flying again.
It was interesting to see the small steps Johan made forward testing the UFO during the runs on the runway until it was airborne. Well done Johan
I want to thank everyone for the encouragement, support and enthusiasm.
The UFO will be back at Wagtail early in the new year, ready to fly. Now with registration and the ATF in place the UFO will be seen often.

Re: CAA Certification on the UFO Gyro
The ufo is back at Wagtail
With the modification on the peddals, the turning circle during taxiing is smaller and has more left rudder.
The new instument pannel looks great aswell. With the little things being upgraded, and Johan's inputs, the UFO
will be a masterpiece.
I thank everyone for the enthusiasm and positive comments

Jean, this is the original tail. The tail you are refering to is still being tested as far as I know.
