Thinus, we can go either go through the Bain's Kloof pass, or through the Franshhoek Pass. If the South Easter is blowing very strongly, it's best to go high, as the wind above 4000ft normally drops to almost zero, when it's pumping on the ground.

I'ver never been through the Bain's Kloof pass, so wouldn't mind that if conditions allow. As I say, if it's pumping, we must just go up high. Anyone with any experience flying through there when the SE is blowing?

Am I missing someone? Learjet might sit this one out
Hey THI you're kidding right? \ vhpy Actually the reason I'm still lurking on the sidelines on this one is that I've sold my M16 and replaced it a M22 which is upcountry and I've still got to make arrangements to get it down to the fairest Cape.

I thought you and Lawrence might discuss the ins and outs of diapers

It would be a pleasure if you could join us!

Congratulations on the M22. (^^) Hopefully you can sort it out before then! Good luck.

Just asked Nic and he says he WILL be going in his shiny new yellow M24 for sure.

Two choices from FASH to FAWC. Nice day - direct over Du Toits Kloof; Not so nice day over Franshoek pass, Theewaterskloof dam, Villiersdorp; Lousy day - Voelvlei dam, Tulbach, Wolsely. All three routes are pleasant and beautiful to fly. (13.6m from FABW @ 4800)
;-)

Wierdest thing, this was posted this morning from my phone but I see it only just showed up... um? hoe werk dit?
Was actually sent at about 10.30 this morning

Someone was interested in my M16 and after much deliberation I decided to sell and get a M22 which I've always fancied. Thought a bit more packing space would come in handy on cross-country trips.

Route there via Robertson sounds great. What are the plans for Saturday? Hang around there all day or an early flip? Breede river or agulhus or both?

Saturday is going to be something of a pickle seeing that the air show will be going on.

What we can do is do a early morning flip, something between 7am-9am. I don't think the air show will start before then. It probably will depend on Friday evening lemonades ## ##

Scenic flight all along the Breede River to Witsand (Grumpy's turf - Barrydale by the sea) and back would be my preference. Twice as high as highest pylon height of course.

Thi we will ask for take-off and return slots, they usually accommodate if they can. We'll ask for takeoff slots after 10 to be sure about the 8hour minimum rule.

We are booked into the tents on the airfield and looking forward to a great weekend.

So there I was, prepping my gyro for our trip next week to Swellendam, fixed the bendix problem, did a few test and quickly did a circuit. After I landed I taxied to the hanger and when I stoped at the hanger water ran between my legs and it dawned on me, burst water pype! :(

Bummer!!

I'll try to fix the pypes before Fryday seeing that I'll be in Natal for work until Thursday.

Feeling a bit dof...I organise this trip and now I might not make it!
