Hi,
The SA CAA accident brief for Sept 2013 gives ultra brief details of three gyro incidents/accidents.
Thankfully no major injuries are recorded.
If anyone can add more details ( help with locations ? ) or insight then please do - thanks.
22nd September 2013 - location unknown, South Africa - ZU-ERT - Auto-Gyro MT-03 - during climb out the gyrocopter suddenly descended and could not gain altitude - source SA CAA - engine problem ? too heavy ? too steep ?
9th September 2013 - location unknown, South Africa - Auto-Gyro MTOsport - ZU-RGL - During approach for landing the gyro experienced windshear which resulted in height loss - source SA CAA
5th September 2013 - Baragwanath airfield, South Africa - Auto-Gyro Calidus - ZU-RHE - the gyrocopter rolled over during landing - source SA CAA
Hopefully the gyros are up and flying again - any beyond economic repair ?
All insight welcome
Steve
