FLY THE BELOVED COUNTRY

Postby FLYNOTE » Fri Sep 14, 2012 9:48 am

Hi guys. SABC is rebroadcasting a rebroadcast of the rebroadcasted rebroadcast of "Fly the beloved Country's" rebroadcast on SUNDAY 16 September @ 21h00. This is a documentary on the first 'around the country' flight which myself, Butch Brown, Vic Venter, Dirk van Zyl, Dicky Webb, Francois Maritz and the late Filipe Morais undertook in 1999 with the first 7 Magnis in the country. It took us three weeks in total. We flew from JHB to Gariep. From there we followed the Orange River along the Namibian border to the West Coast. Then all around the West and Eastern coatline up to the Mozambique border, along Swaziland up to the Zimbabwe border. Then along the Limpopo down to Ellisras, along the Waterberg and back to JHB.
Record the damn thing ! Its 'Africana' !

agg nee man! I was looking forward to seeing it again...again...again... :-) Is there anywhere that one can order a DVD copy? As an avid collector of Africana (books mainly) it's obviously going to have to be added to the collection :-)

I should have a dvd somewhere Dave. Will give you one with pleasure. Will take it to Langebaan in December and check you out at Kraalbaai? ##
