(!!) Gyronout: when we choose the model, the M24 had no German certification and honestly buying a new model is always a risk, so we picked a German company to be on the safer side (no doubt Italians can produce good quality as well, my beautiful 1999 Alfa 156 is showing that everyday). Magni was never visible here as well (Autogyro territory)
Also the light turbo engine with 136 hp was a very sexy hook.
Talking about slipping and the rotor, I totally agree to your point of view. I am flying a Flight Design CTSW (sleek and composite) from time to time. When flying alone and being light (despite my 90 kg), slipping down is mostly the safest way to get this floater down, (full flaps under strong crosswinds is not a good idea, unless you want to commit suicide), and the topology of our field with a wooded hill in front of final asks for a clean descend anyway.
But I do not see any need to do it with a Gyro. Hopefully, I will always remember that. It was cut out of the German syllabus for good reasons.

Cheers (^^) (!!)

Now that makes sense !
Doubling them that way makes the whole thing more rigid for transportation, and also shorter in total length.
When I had a Magni, I designed a trailer with a quick attachment for the rotors as I did not want to remove them and it allowed me to transport the gyro at 130kph+ without a problem. The next transport problem to resolve with a side-by-side is the width of the wheel base (that's the problem I have with the Xenon) as it forces the gyro to be above the wheels of the trailer as opposed to inside the width, and creates a higher c of g on the road.
I would be interested to know what is the wheel base of the Rotortec.

(!!) Technische :Dancer II Länge x Breite x Höhe: 4,37m x 2,20m x 2,60m
Rotor Durchmesser: 7,20m Reisegeschwindigkeit Max: 145 km/h
Zulässige Höchstgeschwindigkeit: 162 km/h Motor: Rotortec MPE 750, 135 PS
Getriebe: Rotortec Riemengetriebe mit Freilauf Rotor: Rotortec VR 07b mit Freilauf
Propeller: DUC Windspool 3 Blatt 1730 mm
Tankvolumen: 115 Liter

=> wheel base 2,20m

2.2m is the same as the Xenon. With tyre width and chassis clearance, you cannot fit it in the max 2.4m allowed on the road. It will have to stay above.

(!!) Rotortec offers a trailer for the CD2 that meets the road specs. (!!)

Greetings OKflyer, Please let us know how your testflights transpired and some likes and dislikes you encountered. Also what mods and changes have been done? Some pics if possible and performance data?
Enjoy

(!!) Carbonblades passed load/destructive tests with execellence. (blades exceeded more the 14 tons without damage, 4 tons were required). Certification is on due. Our bird is already in production. Will be part of the first batch.

Hi okflyer, congrats to the rotec team. How was the blade testing conducted?
Good instructors always speak well about all flying machines.
Bad instructors speak badly about machines they cannot fly.

....How was the blade testing conducted?

(!!) Hi, being one of the early customers, we did recieve the info (about the tests) and pictures from Rotortec.
They seem to bend the blades in vice with computer controlled force. Seems to be a standardized method.I had the opportunity to hold the tested blade in my hand. I do not know what is meant to be published or not. So please the contact Rotortec (Jochen) directly (http://www.rotortec.com).
There are a lot of information avaliable on the German forum. (and discussions about 2 blades vs. 4 blade rotors )

For afrikaans speaking people maybe not too difficult to read.
