Hi
Two new gyros appear on the ZS/ZU register extract for July 2012, both from Auto-Gyro Gmbh
ZU-RIA AUTOGYRO MTOsport, 02ZA2006S01
ZU-RIB AUTOGYRO MTOsport, M00927
Although these are both MTOsport gyros you will notice they have very different serial number patterns ( construction number ) - I *think* that the serial number for RIA suggests it is a kit build and the serial number for RIB suggests it is factory built and could be #927th MT03/MTOsport built ( I've seen similar 900 range numbers on other MTOsport registered in other countries in recent months ).
I have a question which I hope that one of you may be able to resolve please - the serial number for RIA "02ZA2006S01" follows a pattern used by Auto-Gyro a few years back with an embedded country code of "ZA" for South Africa, Year shown as "2006" and "02" being the second import of that model in that year - ie this would not appear to be a brand new machine.
A look on the ZS/ZU register shows an older MT-03 with a similar but not identical serial number ( ZU-EEO - 02ZA2006 ) - I *wonder* if EEO might have been re-built/upgrade to MTOsport standard and now re-registered as RIA.
Apologies if my guess work is in error - I enjoy aviation research and individual aircraft histories.
Hopefully someone on the forum might be able to help with this query - thank you.
Steve
