Re: Who flies what from where ?
I have split this thread that had wandered off talking about low flying under it's new topic called "Low Flying". Please continue to use this thread for its original topic title of "Who flies what from where"

Name:Francois Strydom 58
Location:Rhino Park
Aircraft:gyro ZU-CCN (ex Sean Kloppers)
I bought this aircraft from Crystelle Kloppers about one and a halve years ago.Since the aircraft wasnt used since Sean's tragic accident it needed a lot of attention. My thanks and appreciation to the people that made the phoenix rise from the ashes.I specificcally want to thank Andre Martins at Rhino for the work on the engine,Gideon in Vereeniging,Johan von Ludwig on the lovely farm Klipdrift in the Freestate for supplying the hydraulic pre rotator and rotor system. The brakes were also modified and now fearures disc brakes. An enormous amount of time and energy went into this project and at times i felt like giving up.If it wasnt for people like Len Klopper at Fisantekraal,Jarque Odendaal of Aeroden,Leon Sycamore(excuse the addige),couldnt resist, that gave me moral support throughout this project i would not have been able to do it.I now have several great friends which i regret i have not even met.Thank you all for the support during very difficult times.
I Started my training with Rainier van Rensburg from Springs and did some 17 hours on the Magni.Truli magnificent person and for practical reasons had to continue my training at Wagtail. It was really difficult to train on the Sycamore.Totally different aircraft to the Magni.First solo one afternoon late, never thought i'd see the day.Went to live on the farm for a week to complete my solo and cross counties.Awesome.Many thanks to my instructor Johan van Gardering (115Kg's solid muscle)and CTI Johan von Ludwig. The aircraft performed well with myself (80Kg) and Groot Johan. Now the real training starts and cant wait to get in the air.No passengers yet.I NOW HAVE THE BEST SYCAMORE EVER.

Re: Who flies what from where ?
WOW! Congratulations Francois!
You need a medal for perseverance!
Considering what you paid for it, the fantastic improvements made, perhaps it is the best Sycamore in the country (after mine ) She does look stunning!
This is a picture of Sean presenting me with my Gyro wings after qualifying on ZU-CCN (behind us) in April 2006!
I am sure that Sean's memory will be served well with you flying this beautiful machine.
I wish you many many happy hours of safe flying! Enjoy every minute and I can't wait to come and fly with you in a few weeks!
Kind regards
Len

Re: Who flies what from where ?
It all happened very quickly and as a result of the program on Pasella I am now a trainee gyro pilot. I work in the film industry as a sound recordist and am currently in Stellenbosch on a project. Taking in consideration I am based in Paarl for the time I hooked up with the guys at Aerosport. Can't believe I haven't done this sooner...wow is all the words I have for now. I've met some great people along the way and look forward to building longstanding relationships in the aviation industry.
