Yep, too many times that I care to admit. (I've even taxi'd off -then realised it, then told the pax that I prefer to take it off at the holding point in case the blade flaps

Have you ever opened the throttle for take-off and the engine stays on idle? After checking finding that you have not taken the filter cover off so the engine simply is not getting enough air to run above idle? Blitsvinnig in en uit voor iemand sien (!!)

Have you ever been pushed on a trip to refuel quickly from your aux cans on the back seat and in your haste splashed a few drops of fuel on your rear windscreen as you remove the syphon pipe or fuel can nossle ? Goodbye windscreen !

Have you ever - been told on the radio while taxiing that you have a nice gyro, then while pondering over the ego status that you created whithin yourself, stopped the other checks, lined-up, opened throttle, RPMs are battling ... mid runway abort take-off. Lets start again ... only 1 mag switch on ? Choke still on ?

Have you ever switched off both fuelpumps on downwind instead of on and made your instructor sit boltupright and had his voice raise two octaves as the engine coughed and died?

(I know 4 of you that have! - you know who you are... believe me, so do I !)

Have you ever landed, reached down for the rotor brake and found that your rotor brake was still on.

Have you ever realized that there are certain times in aviation when it is so much better to be down here, wishing you were up there than to be up there, wishing you were down here! (**)

H y e flown on the highveld to Loskop from Wtb when visability is poor and some dick head stole your gps and because you have done the route many times you think flying there and back is a walk in the park? Somehow I got their in 25 min and eventually got back to Wtb 1h30 min later with just anough feul to make it to the hanger! Moral... if their is no beacons or direction indications you will get lost no matter how many times you flew the same route. Things look different directly from the top than in a distance that you are used too!

H y e landed in a strong crosswind and when your nose wheel touch ground the cart goes left and the blade want to continue straight resulting in a two wheel stunt?

H y e taxied too fast because you are in a hurry (only applicable too RAF 2000 where you have to remove your right foot from the rudder pedal too brake) and for some reason push the the left pedal and because your right foot is on the brake and there is no counter force for your left foot input resulting in a two wheel stunt which you will never do again?

H y e had a piece of your pre rotator braking off on take off and get hit by your prop for a 36 but with luck miss the main blade?

H y e taken off over weight and had to follow falling ground to stay airborne then slowly gain 3ft just to loose 2ft and so you carry on to the point you wish you had a feul dump valve to rid some weight and during this ordeal your pax tells you it was his first and best flight ever in a Gyro and you just do a sight off relief that you were in a Gyro and not something else. If I had to do a e-landing we would have servived as their was anought reeds bellow us!! Never again!!

I e; Been there done that!
