My metal wings!
I have just finalized my purchase and I’m the proud new owner of ZU-CML. Just to get the paperwork behind me and the conversion and I’m up in the air!! Can’t wait!

Re: My metal wings!
Thanks for everybody’s good whishes! Much appreciated.
It goes without saying that gyro’s is the way to fly!!
I’m of opinion that a closed gyro is more enjoyable than an open one. I did my training on an ELA and although I enjoyed it a lot, the winters are a bit too cold. Plus with the draft at the back, mommy will not like that. So closed it will be…
I had a look at the Xenon, M24 and RAF. Could fit into the RAF (unfortunately) and the Xenon and M24 are, for now, out of my league.
So the Sycamore will be it!
I spoke to Len and he took me for a flip in his Sycamore and I was sold! Len mentioned that he knows a guy who wants to sell his Sycamore, because he is most of the time in England. Longs story short, here I am. The part about applying for financing ect is left out for obvious reasons!
Busy with my instrument panel upgrade. My end result will look something like this!

Re: My metal wings!
Congratulations again on your lovely machine Thinus!
I got to fly this machine in the UK about 2 years ago and it was a beaut then... Still is!
It has only about 70 hours on it, is very clean and well looked after and after more than a year of standing in a hangar at FASH it started beautifully, first kick! Spun up nicely and all is well in my opinion. As far as I know all that is required is an inspection by an AP, get the Authority to fly, do the conversion onto the Y017 and off you go!
I wish you well with your machine and look forward to being part of the Sycamore formation in the Cape Skies.
