Dra enige iemand kennis of die Calidus gyro van GmdH uit Duitsland ingevoer gaan word en teen watter prys?

Re: Calidus
Hi Gompou
Yes, Autogyro-africa has brought a Calidus into South Africa already. By all accounts a STUNNING machine.
There was one at the Gyro fly-in at Kittyhawk on the 5th of December. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=11663
See download/file.php?id=16999&t=1
The contact person is Theuns Eloff (who I happen to know is on holiday in Jeffreys-bay at the moment). There is more info available on their website at http://www.autogyro-africa.co.za/Calidu ... idus09.php

Re: Calidus
It sure looks very sleek and sexy!!
How comfortable is it tough? Is the Xenon not a better "social" machine and does it not offer more comfort??

Re: Calidus
I happen to know Mr Eloff quite well.
It took some convincing to get the Calidus to Kitty Hawk, but he displayed two at our Gyro Fly-in.
Anybody who have not had the opportunity to see it in real life, please wait with your comments until you took the time to go for an inspection.
I do not belong to the "yours-is-better-than-mine" club. I fly a Magni M22 (just to put the record straight)
This Gyro is s fresh new approach and absolutely beautiful.
The looks, space, looks (o I did mention that already) VP Prop (I want one for Christmas please) and ……………. (where do I stop)
Pricing (I have got no idea)
Bad points, surely (in my opinion, but I think this is true for all enclosed Gyros)
1. We are so used to a proper inspection on pre-flight. The engine is also enclosed and pre-flight will be more difficult.
2. The winter canopy might become warm in summer, but the summer version is already available.
3. I do not have one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be first in line for a demo flight when they are registered (believe not to far in the future)
Congratulation Theuns, you have a winner.

Whirly i am 1.95 m tall my brother almost the same , I sat infront he at the back , and it had ample space actually i think my wife and kid will be able to sit nest to each other at the back (yes yes i know not legal ) .
To get to the back the front seat actually tilts forward , which makes it very easy for pax to get in (unusual for other tandem gyro's) .
When the pricing is announced i will seriously then consider .
All in all very good looking Gyro'
Well done

Re: Calidus
Thanks Jabi430!!
I love the look of this machine!! Would also like to know the price!
When one looks at the RV range of aeroplanes, then the side by side ones (RV4,6,7 and 9) are way more popular than the tandem ones............just an observation.
