Vredendal flyin

Postby gyrofan » Mon Aug 31, 2009 10:56 pm

Is there perhaps a photo of the unique "timing" within the RSA gyro history...the first flyin attended by the "new generation"....the Closed cockpit bunch. I see there is already a picture of the Sycamore next to the M24, is there perhaps a photo of the M24 and the XENON next to each other??

Man, the goal posts just seems to shift higher and higher for us....maybe we can now pick up a few open cockpit machines at a good price???

Hi Gyrofan
Sorry to have to dissapoint you pal, but the guys who love their open cockpits, also love the wind in their hair.
We seem to be a funny country. In Europe, with all it's bad weather, people want to drive topless cars whereas in the RSA we want something closed and hard over the top.
As far as flying is concerned, I guess it is a case of to each his own.
If you are interested, there are gyro's in the market at very reasonable prices, BUT remember, if you get it for next to nothing, there is a very good reason for it and is your life worth it?
PM me and I will put you onto guys that have possible good deals on various models and types.

After 130 hrs, my doors are still gathering dust - but maybe one day I'll take it for a circuit. 8) Somehow I cannot imagine flying enclosed - the open cockpit is why I started flying  - but I enjoy the roof.
