Good instructors always speak well about all flying machines.
Bad instructors speak badly about machines they cannot fly.

Congratulations Mark! Well done!
I will take some of the credit for taking you on a demo flight in my gyro when you were looking around.
Are you going to be flinging meatbombs out of it?
look forward to seeing you in the Delta200 area. Will listen out for you, What is your registration?

Howdy Len,

Registration is currently ZU-DYP but will change when registered in my name. No meat bombs outa here this is recreational!

The aircraft is at Saldanha where I must still complete my training with Johan Froneman. Looking forward to going away as soon as I have da right paper!

It is a fantastic experience learning to fly a gyro. Really great being a student again.

My initial struggle was due to the fact that I viewed it as a conversion! Forget what you thought you knew and give the instructor a clean slate, listen and do as he says. I did 12 hours in 6 days which does not sound like a lot but it is fairly intense. Then flew her back to Saldanha from Upington which gave me a further 6 hours. So I have 18 dual and waiting for free time to fly again.

Even with very few hours I found her to be a remarkable aircraft. Some impressive stuff included the hover with an anticlockwise spin, 2 complete circuits on a 5km runway without touching the stick, 116 mph speed demo, lowlevel following dirt roads through 90 degree bends, training in otherwise very turbulent conditions, landing with almost zero roll in zero wind and of course the 165hp motor! I am sure there is more to come and I can't wait..

See you at the field...
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

And now you want to put a engine like that in your trike!! (**) (**)

Enjoy it. Only a matter of time before there is a meatbomb or 2 or 3 or 4!! (^^) (^^)

Awesome Mark!

Impressive machines they are for sure and you're right, better to start ab-initio when it comes to flying them.

We're off to Botswana to tour the Delta on Monday in 3 gyro's. They're so versatile for that kind of thing yes.
On the way back we are stopping off at the Mockes in Upington and I look forward to seeing where they build those little beauties.

Rgds
