I'll attempt to do that.

Eric Torr is "Mr Gyro" in South Africa when it comes to experience. He was towing glider-gyro's when you (and I) were still at school or possibly not even born yet. His pictures are up in the Carnarvon club house to this day in recognition of his gyro pioneering in the Karoo pans. If any gyro misses a beat, runs rough, handles strangely or does something unexpected, trust me if I tell you, he is the man to sort it out.

He knows more about Gyro's than all of us put together and he is an awesome pilot. Ask me, I have many helicopter hours (trained by the best) and did my Gyro Instructors Patter with Eric; hence my utmost respect for his abilities and his knowledge.

If Eric makes a point, best you listen, for fear of making an ass of yourself.

To claim statistically you are a better pilot than Eric is warped logic and arrogant in the extreme. You will never be a better pilot than Eric. Klaar.
Posting video's of yourself flying low might be good for your ego and prove you're a helluva bush pilot but its not good for general safety (or the reputation gyro's have) or in the spirit of airmanship that we serious pilots strive towards. If you don't get the Esprit de corps (best I explain it is the morale of a group) that Eric is referring to then so be it.

Attitude is everything when it comes to flying and it appears yours is not quite what I would have hoped for.

I believe your Gyro is for sale. Hope you are successful.

My point was to prove that his statistics was wrong. I said that I am a better pilot to illustrate a point that statistics is not always what it seems to be. Try not to quote me out of context
If you are offended with my videos please let me know. I have removed them and any post about low flying.
I know Eric and have the utmost respect for his flying. I am just not agreeing with his post.

Ok Callie, point taken. Perhaps I was more than harsh, for which I apologise.

Try to understand that I spend most of my day trying to instil a sense of good airmanship and safety in aspiring pilots and get easily riled when someone intentionally breaks the unwritten 'code'.

It is really easy to teach someone to fly a Gyro. It is incredibly difficult to teach someone to fly a gyro with the right "sense" of airmanship and safety without compromise.

Fly safe young man, and may you have many happy hours enthusiastically and safely enjoying your gyro. Always remember that there are always less experienced people that look up to your ability and skill and that they will follow your example.
