Google Earth - Airfields

Postby pietmeyer » Wed Oct 08, 2008 3:05 pm

I am using Google Earth to get a picture of all the airfields that I fly to. Makes it easier when flying to a new place to have an idea of what it looks like before I get there. It would be nice of the different airfields to post a google earth pic with the no-fly zones etc. so that visitors know where not to go.

Saw a pic of Rhino a while back but can not find it now. How about it? Post your google earth pic, co-ordinates and if possible show no-fly zones or anything that you might find usefull to know on the photo.

I have 2 airport pics in my microlight folder. Post your pics so I do not have to google and look for everthing because eventualy, I want to fly everywhere vhpy

Thanks
Piet Meyer

Rhinopark, Kitty-Hawk and Cocariba (spelling?) would be nice. ANybody have the co-ords for the dam close to cocariba? Apparently you land on the dam wall.

Thanks

Kokoriba

S25 21.420
E027 36.540

Runway 15-35
Frequency 124.8

Sorry, I dont have any pics.

Nice place to fly to. Some of the guys in our group complained that their GPS's didn't function properly in the area. The runway is to the east of the dam, and not to easy to spot behind the trees.

The 1:250K map is available from Dept of mapping in CT. It a 14.2 meg file, and has many of the fields. I can load it if you have a server which can host it...

Below low res pic of the East Rand - Fly inn, Microland, Baps, Petit, FASI etc. for your info...
