Flying In PE.

Postby Brendan » Tue Sep 23, 2008 10:01 am

Hi Guy's

Please could someone tell me if there is a Airfield in PE, Info on the airfield, Special rules, where to hanger my Trike and what the fees are?
I am planing on taking my Trike down there in Dec, have never flown down at the coast so maybe someone can tell me what to expect.

You could expect to see some water, waves etc, maybe even a beach or two......

If the wind comes in from the sea, nice flying. When the wind comes from inland, not such nice flying

Hi
I am taking my trike down as well, will arive in Oyster Bay, the 19th. I called a guy named Urie for hanger space at Paradise Beach. Very helpfull.
There is other places as well but there is a couple of ground-rules we need to know about, regarding flying over holiday-makers.
Let me know about your progress.

Hi Brendan
then we must meet up down there.
Call Urie @ 0827753151, I dont remember how much he said it would be, but when you speak to him, will you please remind him about me, (Conrad, Topless -Windlass), so I dont loose my spot in the hanger. I will be there from 19 - 3, this Desember holiday.
Thank you
Regards

Hi Guys

You can speak to Slabfish, on the forum as well. He hangers and flies out of Paradise. Very nice flight down to Plett / Stanleys Island. Nice 1 hour flight to tsitsikama fly inn.
To go East, you need to go around PE CTA, via Uitenhage etc, but youre very welcome to give me a call, and join us in the Port Alfred area, lovely coastal flying.

Dont go near Cape St Francis! Check with Demon for local rules there.

Cheers
L
