Gauteng Airstrip Database

Postby ACE » Tue Sep 27, 2005 3:26 pm

Howsit all,

Here is my database of airfield co-ords. It's not just Gauteng however so I call it a Gauteng Database rather loosely.

http://myhome.mweb.co.za/~20004666/Forumdbase.gdb

It is a .gdb file so you will need Mapsource to do anything with it - I hope not to alienate those fliers/forum members who don't have this software, it is not intended.

There are many other airfields/airstrips that are missing, especially around Jhb North, Haarties Dam etc, if I get the co-ords from anybody, I will happily update the file. [/url]

This is a great idea. If everyone contributes we can have all the backyard and other interesting landing places at a single source. How do we add waypoints to this?

ZU-ANE, sorry I have not been on this thread for a while

Firstly, do you have Garmin Mapsource software to handle the file ?

Secondly, this database file is currently being hosted on my MWeb server space so if you want to, send me details of any airfield not on there and I'll update. You can also download the file for yourself.

Regards,
Charles.
