Microlight air field. (PORT EDWARD)

Postby vernon11 » Mon Jan 14, 2008 9:46 pm

Hi Aviators.
A small reminder that we have a 400 mtr grass runway at Port Edward. Hangarage is also available. For those who are not familier with our area. Port Edward is a beautifull holiday destination, bordering the wild coast. Flights down the wild coast are incredible.
Contact either myself. Vernon Mitchell 0834598673. Or Flynne Elliott. 0826547045

Cheers, Hope to see you soon.
Vernon.

Here are the co-ords.

S 30 57.862' E 030 09.552'

At the field, there is a restraunt, bar,and 4 three sleeper wendy houses. It is not ours, but an establishment that runs off road buggies, quads, and
trail walks etc. They occupy our old clubhouse, so its right on the spot. Bass fishing is also available.
April we are going to build a couple of rooms of our own for stop overs.
You will really enjoy the place.
Hope to see you soon.
Regards,
Vernon.

Hi Vernon.
How far is the field from the Holiday Resort in Port Edward?
I go there every year and next year my trike is going with on holiday. What are the hanger fees and who can I speak to when I am down there?

Hi Brendon.
The field is about 17klm from Port Edward. The charges are as follows. The first 2days are R50 a day then R40 a day to a maximum of R300 rand for a month. All money goes to the upkeep and rental.

Hi Vernon. Hope you are well. Has Flynn recovered from the floods?

Guys if you want great hospitality and even greater flying then this is the place to base yourself. Take a trip down the Wild Coast to Waterfall Bluff etc.

These guys really look after you and nothing is too much for them.

That is Waterfall Bluff in my Avatar. It is one of the few waterfalls in the world that plunges directly into the sea and the wild coast has 2 of them.

Hi Andy.
Thanks for the booste to our field. We are still doing quit a lot of changes to improve things. We hope to finish the rooms in about a months time, for anyone who wants to stay over. A kitchen, and three rooms. hoipe we will see you here before the bad weather arrives.
flynn and his partner are opperating, but the jetti was washed away, and has not yet been replaced, so the public have to go aboard on a ramp for the cruises.
cheers,
vernon.

HEy Vernon,

Just sorting out a new trike and getting the license current again. Will round up a posse of people and get them down there to experience the "WILD" coast.
