Can one hangar here

Postby Henni » Wed Jun 13, 2007 1:37 pm

Hi all,

Saw the following airstrips on Google Earth - all rather close to where I live. Can one hangar there and if so, can anyone provide contact detail please?

1. MICROR
2. EGELNT
3. SWTSPR

Don't know who owns them, but I think Demon, Flo or maybe Abe will know.

1. MICROR - Micro Ranch (Don't think this field is active any more)
2. EGELNT - ? Don't know this one
3. SWTSPR - Swartspruit... Know nothing about it.

Thanks G,

Noting the location of my new house, can anyone suggest available hangarage closer than Siera Romeo?

Regards,

Henni

Hi everyone,

Thanx for the replies.

I've never seen a three axis aerie at Microland & the runway would be too short for me at full gross. Thanx anyway.

Demon, looking forward to your info.

G, do you have contact detail for Flo?

Regards,

Henni

Hi Dieselfan,

Yes, would be fine for those types and even the MXII & Skyfoxes at full gross - definitely not for the Mizer at full gross as is.

I saw a Bantam in the air overhead Siera Romeo on Saturday - never realised that it was based at Microland! Boy, does it sound beautiful - just like a real aircraft.

Hi everyone,

Demon, I've sent a mail off to Trevor - waiting for his reply.

G, your contact eventually leaded me to someone else who might be able to help. Will know by weekend.

Thanks guys! I might just come right this time.

There are all these airfields, yes - And then there is the Mecca of airfields:

- Where the wind hardly ever blows
- Never any foggen mist
- 800m tar runway
- CLose to Harties, Roodekoppies, Vaalkop, Hekpoort valley, Magalies, Pilanesberg...

Did I mention that the wind hardly ever blows there.....

They are building new hangers as we speak

FAAP....

Hi Big D,

Sounds so inviting - unfortunately a little far for me. I fly VERY often and as such my car fuel bill is nearly the same as my aircraft fuel bill.

I found hangar space at LazerTronix, irony is that the airfield length & surroundings are not suited for the Mizer at full gross. Such a pity, less than 20kms from my house!

So if any trike owner needs hangarage in this area, be sure to give Reighley (hope it's spelled correctly) a call.

Big D, where do you live and how far is your field from your house?

Regards,

Henni

I am willing to bet that AP is closer to your house than Rhino

I live in North Riding - 45min to AP on the R512. Personally I would not have it any other way, it really is the ultimate airfield. Landings are a breeze and they serve beer as soon as you land

I was waiting to have Annual inspection done on Sunday - Circled the airfield at 6000ft looking for when AP's car arrives - Shot to overhead Harties and back in 7 minutes quickly and landed before he arrived :D

Everything is so close
